Despite their record Chiefs are better than last year, and they are only going to get better. All the criticism regarding what didn't happen as far as free agency moves, drafts picks, retaining players, etc. is all window dressing at the end of the day. 10-6 is very realistic for this team which should get them in the playoffs and be more of a threat than they were last year. Vermeil and Carl made the right decisions IMO during the offseason. Gun has been the difference and giving the young players time to develop is proving to be the right call.
10-6 or 11-5 will be an awesome record given their 1-4 start. I know a lot of folks have been critical of both DV and Carl, but I am still a big fan of DV and less so of Carl, but must admit that he is one of the better GM's in the league.
I want DV to stay until he retires for good after next year. I know he will leave us with solid team and solid coaching organization. I am hoping he will also leave us with a minimum 3rd appearance in the SB and minimum second Lombardi Trophy. It will be huge if he is able to make it to the playoffs this year and get us to Jacksonville after the terrible start. If he does, no one on this board will ever dare breath a bad word again about DV and the contribution he has made to this franchise in the short time he was here. NOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
