Playoff seedings
GOOD BETS FOR THE POSTSEASON

• New England (6-0) AFC's best team — but the Chiefs would love to end their win streak here.
• N.Y. Jets (5-1) They end their season with Steelers, Seahawks, Patriots and Rams.
• Pittsburgh (5-1) They'll see how good they really are this weekend against New England.
• Denver (5-2) AFC West leaders are already 3-0 in the division, and a cushier schedule awaits.
• Jacksonville (5-2) If they don't win AFC South, they still hold wild-card advantage over Chiefs.
• Indianapolis (4-2) Close losses hurt, but Colts still will be a big favorite in long run.

STILL MAKING A PUSH

• Baltimore (4-2) Ravens still have to face Eagles, Jets, Patriots, Colts and Steelers.
• San Diego (4-3) So much for Marty's last season. His Chargers are surprisingly improved.
• Houston (3-3) Must pull some upsets to keep up with the Jaguars and Colts. Good luck.
• Cleveland (3-4) Anything's possible in the AFC North.

They have beaten Oakland, SD, Carolina and Us So they have a nice jump on us. They do have Houston, SD, Us and Indy

Looking at this Baltimore, Jets, Steelers, Texans, and Colts have tough schedules ahead.

NE, SD, Denver have easier Schedules so it would be tough to catch them.

If they beat The Colts I may find it worthy to come back and read all of that.

I would have to see them beat everyone between now and the NE game.

I just want, competitive entertaining football from here out on a game by game basis. At this point, it is just too much of a stretch to even afford the luxury of playoff hopes.

I am in 70's mode with respect to the Chiefs until they dig themselves out of the hole they put themselves in.

I like looking at it simplified right now, 3 more losses and we are out, period. 9-7 may cut it in the NFC, but in the AFC you are pretty much doomed.

your saying, your looking for a similiar Houston Oilers comeback. With the exception, we have to win 10 straight games instead of 12. I don't see that happening. Not the way were playing this year. Just too much inconsistency. We play good one game, find a way to lose the next.
I'd like to think we can go 9-7 or 10-6 though. Whether it'd be good enough to get into the playoffs? Who knows? Only time will tell.

Sometimes I feel like I'm talking to my kids on theis BB.

Unless the Donks fall ,they have the division almost wrapped up. I think they will probally get 5 losses, but they did beat Carolina and might have a better division or confrence record. We must win out to get the division title.

As for a WC team, the odds are probally slimmer. Jax has tie breaker on us, they will probally pull the division title, I see them around 12-4 /11-5.

The game with Indy is BIG. But even if they go 12-4 and we finsh 11-5, we are toast.

The Jets will get the other WC. They have 1 loss, I don't see them getting over 4 losses. We would have to win out to see where the tie breakers are on this one.

All other teams after looking at there schedules, I don't see any of them better than 9-7.

We best be hoping for a Denver meltdown . A Jax. and Indy meltdown would go along ways to helping the cause.

Now reality wise..... none of this matter right now!
Lets just win some games and see what happens. The best way top the playoffs is to win and take care of business the old fashion way .

I'd prefer 2-14. rather than 9-7 or 8-8. Seriously.

No I am saying that unless we win the next 3 games, thinking about the playoffs is absurd.

Then we could draft our QBotF: Meier, compliments of CP... Seriously though, I like USC's QB, he is composed and doesnt make mistakes.
-edit The other possibility is that CP will draft a safety and convert him to QB :shrugs:

yup, and unless we beat the Colts nothing else matters....we'd have been off beating the Jags and losing to Atlanta....I don't think 10-6 would guarantee us a spot this year

Yup. And I am not so sure we can beat the Saints in their dome. Historically the Chiefs are toast playing a high-powered offense in a dome.

I'd agree; otherwise, we might as well go 2-14 playing rookies, FA, and other players who need to be "tested." :hmmm:

Honestly, I am very afraid of Denver's postseason outlook.

Since Elway retired, they have had their share of fast starts only to sink to mediocrity by season's end.

2001: Started 2-0 and 3-1 but finished off an ugly 8-8. Some of the offensive performances this season (Jacksonville, Tampa Bay, Cincinnati) have brought back memories of the mediocre 2001 offense.

2002: 6-2 at the halfway point. Best record in the AFC. Led the 4-4 Raiders at the halfway point. Raiders embarrass them on MNF. Raiders go on to win the AFC Championship, Denver misses the postseason at 9-7.

2003: Started the season 4-0 and ended up with a wild card at 10-6 but after their drubbing in the AFC Wild Card to the Colts, it really didn't seem much of a season of achievement.

When I look at the Chiefs, they really can only afford to lose one more game (11-5) to be assured of a playoff berth. They could lose two and miss it at 10-6 as evidenced by the Dolphins last season. I don't see a repeat of the mediocre AFC of two seasons ago where there were a few teams to make it at 9-7.

That being said, I think if the Chiefs get by the both Colts or Patriots or just one of them, they are a serious threat to run the table with the rest of their schedule. I really think you guys are going to make a run at 10-6.

Who knows with the way the AFC West is going, the division winner might get in with a 10-6/9-7.

There's NOT one game on Denver's schedule I feel confident about (Maybe Oakland at home). But, even the games like @ New Orleans and hosting Miami (yes, the Dolphins, they still have a tough defense that could get us in a low scoring Jacksonville type game).

Here is a Broncomaniac that is praying his team hangs on and can finally win the AFC West for the first time since 1998.

Your monday night game will either serve as a wake up call to snap you back into shape or a blueprint for victory for the other teams who have you on their schedule...

All the numbers mean didly poo right now, didly poo! The only thing that matters is getting the W against the Colts. If we don't do that it doesn't mean the seasons over it will just make it tougher to get into post season. But still beating the Colts is all that matters.......all that matters......
