Big 12 to Watch Election Results

The results from next week’s election are being closely watched by Big 12 officials, according to conference commissioner Kevin Weiberg.
Responding to questions he has been receiving concerning County Question 1, Weiberg released this statement early this afternoon: “It goes without saying that the quality of the stadium facilities be well maintained so that Kansas City can continue to properly bid to serve as the host of our championships.”
Arrowhead is scheduled to host the Dr Pepper Big 12 Championship this year and again in 2006. Arrowhead has been the site of two previous championships which were the best attended in the history of the conference.
“County Question 1” is on the ballot in five counties in the Kansas City metro area. It would provide funding for the arts and for improvements to the stadiums located in the Truman Sports Complex including Arrowhead and Kauffman stadiums
