I recently helped a friend move his stuff out of his dad's garage [sounds lame, but when I saw the 'rent's house, I couldn't blame him. His dad is a cement contractor, and he plyed every trick of the trade in the house. Relevant to this thread. The main house had 15 [FIFTEEN] foot ceilings. Short of no outside light, you'd swear this basement was the main floor of a fairly nice [300-350K] house. Crown molding, marble pillars, big screen TVs set in the walls of each room. I was drooling.

I think you're mistaken, CC. There are K-State grads that live in that neighborhood. They're called maids.
