Just checking some stats.

Kick-off return avg. we rank 31st in the league.
Punt return avg we rank 32nd in the league.

I knew is was bad, but the numbers really put it in perspective. I think we really miss Boerigter in this area.

well if there was one aspect that i could live with is kick coverage, because if it is really really shitty we could just kick it out of bounds everytime

BTW...why are Tynes kickoffs either touchbacks or they suck and end up getting fielded at the 15 yard line??

My scouts has told me it is because sometimes he kicks the ball really really hard, and sometimes he doesn't

Did you ever hear my story about eric dickerson? Long story short i saw him out at a bar, and he was an asshole, and his sideline reporting still sucks

I place much more of the blame on the (short) kickoffs themselves on Sunday, rather than the coverage. Vermeil said he was "pissed" about it too, after the game. Said it was awful.

Tynes kickoffs like other things, seem to have gotten shorter in the colder weather.

Losing Boerichter, Beisel, and I would assume Bartee as well.

Yeah, but the blame for the the poor coverage for most of the season lies with the coverage units.

Hell, with the Chiefs scoring, what, 15 TDs and a FG over the course of the last 2 games, one would think that Tynes leg might be getting a little tired.

And I'm sick of Dick laying the blame for an entire unit's failure on one person.
This isn't the only time he's done this kind of finger pointing.

Chiefs on NFL Game of the Week!

9 p.m. ET -- Game of the Week

Game of the Week

* Colts at Chiefs:
This Wednesday's NFL Network Game of the Week goes inside the Chiefs' 45-35 victory over the Colts. Trent Green threw for 389 yards with three touchdowns and Priest Holmes ran for 143 yards with three scores in another shootout at Arrowhead Stadium. The Chiefs (3-4) gained a measure of revenge for last year's 38-31 playoff loss to Indianapolis at Arrowhead and won their second straight game with a dominating offensive performance. The Chiefs finished with 387 passing yards and 203 on the ground for a total of 590, as the balanced attack helped keep Indianapolis quarterback Peyton Manning off the field -- to an extent. Manning threw for a career-high 472 yards and five touchdowns on 25-of-44 passing, but his last-ditch comeback attempt ended with an interception in the end zone in the closing minutes.

This 60-minute review uses cutting-edge technology to examine all the key personnel match-ups, outstanding performances and pivotal plays as NFL Films signature slow-motion cinematography and sideline sound. This is the first of two games chosen each week.
