My apologies if this has appeared in a previous thread. Sorry guys, but it's not, like, y'know...LEGAL to spank your employees. Story re-printed below:
Former Employees Accuse Boss of Spanking Them
Story by John Madewell on Mon, Nov 8th 2004 (7:05 PM)
Two 19 year old women say they had a choice of being spanked, or fired
at a Red Bank, Tennessee business. Both women have filed charges
against Paul Gene Levengood, the owner of Tasty Flavors Sno Biz. The
former employees say Levengood crossed the line.
The allegations coming out of the Sno Biz Treat Center are
anything but sweet. Red Bank detective Jay LaMance said, "Young girls
came forward and reported that their employer had been spanking them
when they would do something wrong."
A 19 year old woman says on Saturday October 30th, owner Paul
Gene Levengood spanked her for messing up an order.
The woman tells police she forgot to put a banana in a smoothie.
After the customer left, the woman claims Levengood took her to the
back room and bent her over his knee and spanked her twenty times.
NewsChannel 9 called Levengood to get his side of the story, but
his number has been disconnected. We also went to his Cleveland
home, but no one aswered the door.
Another 19 year old employee says she too was spanked and her
other choice was to be fired.
Police say the young women were coerced. Detective LaMance said,
"Threats of losing their job, actually being confined in their mind
where they couldn't leave physically."
The woman claiming the most recent spanking only worked here four
days.
She told police when she started working, Levengood made her sign
a paper giving him permission to bust her behind any way he saw fit.
Detective LaMance said, "They didn't take the note seriously or take
it literally. They took it more in the context of you'll get in
trouble. You'll receive disciplinary action, something like that if
you screw up. The girl did not take it literally at all."
Detective LaMance says Levengood had the only copy of that form.
He has been charged with two counts of sexual battery, the lowest
rated felony on the books. He's out on a two thousand dollars bond.
Paul Gene Levengood is scheduled to be in Red Bank city court on
November 16th, at 8:30 am.
