26 million + bonus for a Rght Tackle? That Tait who's doing pretty badly for Chicago right now?

I'll pass.

The Chiefs need to ditch Welbourne and find someone who can pass block, but paying Tait would of been the wrong move.

Does Chicago have a player that is not doing badly? I used to be surrounded by bears fans, now they are an endangered species.

Yeah i agree. Welbourne has been a big disappointment and i wouldnt mind him replaced. But signing Tait to a big contract would have been a terrible move.

Heck, I would be happy if we still had Riley at this point!

Thomas Jones was doing pretty well before they lost their passing game with the Grossman injury. He had a solid game or two after that before he got injured as well.

I'd take Riley over Welborne too. He just gets beat way too often in pass protection. As for resigning Tait...no way at half his price...

Well they got owned big time aganist the Colts, and their offense is worse than ours.... and their OC is Shea.

Seriuosly, I know John was not affordable at his price, but in a lot of situations I have really missed him. Saw him with a couple great blocks on a screen Sunday with the Bears. Nevertheless, I don't think right tackle is the problem, as most will probably agree.

Sometimes you think "I'd give a million buck for/if this or that. 26 million? Nawwwww!

Bober is just as bad as Welbourne and doesn't cost a 3rd round pick in 2005 if he plays half the snaps. Bench Welbourne NOW.

Yep and him geting injured tonight is a great excuse to bench him. Whats his contract status for next season? I wouldnt mind seeing him back here if his contract is reasonable since he has talent and has performed well in the past. He just never got it going this season.

Welbourne is signed through 2008 with his salary escalating roughly 20% each season starting at $1,000,000 this year and culminating at 2,000,000 in '08.

If he's the future at RG, fine. Bench him, save the 3rd rounder, and move him to RG when Shields retires.

Thanks. Those contract numbers are really nice but I agree we dont need to be giving up that pick at all.
