Q: It looks like Chris Bober will start for you for the first time this weekend. How’s he been playing?

VERMEIL: “He played pretty well in the ball game the other day. We’ve been playing him all along but this knee thing with John Welbourn, well, we might have run out of miles on him right now. I think it needs a good break and we’re doing some thorough examinations and MRI work.”

Q: The knee’s more of a problem than the hip is?

VERMEIL: “I think so, over the long haul.”

If we can limit Welbourne's snaps to the point we lose a 4th rounder rather than a 3rd rounder that only helps us. Now we need to start playing the young guys to see how they develop (Siavii, Parker, Fox, Wilson, Scanlon and yes even Larry Johnson.) I'm not saying start them, but I am saying to play them.

This is a smart move. If we are going to struggle through the season we might as well develop Bober and keep our 2rd rounder, too.

Great move. No reason to start Welbourne and lose that draft pick.

Smartest move the Chiefs have made all year. :banghead:
