He was actually my idol when I was little. He could sit back in his chair and place a glass of milk on his belly and dunk cookies. He was a big ol' boy. I thought that was some coo stuff. I one day will be able to dunk cookies off my belly.

It's kinda like Harry S Truman, where he just had a letter and not a name.

My first name was pulled out of air, but my middle name is my dad's middle name...which is Lee...and shared by several others here, I see...

Close. Shukat, his eyes uncovered. You confused it with Shaka when the walls fell... (at this point, non-Trek fans need to just move on and not even ask).

I believe, as someone previously mentioned in this thread, the answer is nothing. It was just "S".

edit: ack! Slight revision -- the "S" was given to him because somthing like his two grandfathers both had names beginning with the letter S, and the family couldn't decide which to give him, so they gave him just the letter. I read a couple books on Truman (GREAT President, BTW), and just remembered that.

The middle one's middle name was after his great great uncle's middle name. He had been very kind to us and passed away shorty before my son was born. Actually, it's from the piolet episode:

The tombstone meant for Kirk has the name "James R. Kirk" written on it, though later episodes would give his middle as T (short for "Tiberius" as we learn in Star Trek VI). It's not really a goof since it's not contradicintg anything at this point.

Wow. That was a lot of information about Captain Kirk.

I'm guessing I know the name Tiberius from the movie.

Yeah, I do. Star Trek VI.

William Shatner is my favorite actor of all time, BTW.

I was a HUGE Star Trek geek before I had even heard of Star Wars.

I was a 98C4HT9AP when I was in the Army, but it was easier to tell people around El Paso I was a 19D. They knew what a cavalry scout was.

Biggest difference between an 11B and a 19D? A 19D gets lost faster. ROFL

Well, I spent two years assigned to the 3rd ACR and five years to the 101st ABN DIV (AASLT). Personally, if they'd told me I was going back to the ACR instead of back to the 101st, I'd probably still be in the Army.

1) Why walk when you can drive to the field?
2) Can't put too much pogie bait in a track.

I really liked the 3 ACR and would go back in a hart beat. I just hope 2nd ID is a good DIV.
