Another crime wave has hit Manhattan, Kan.
Someone apparently has stolen Willie the Wildcat's head.
The Manhattan Mercury reports that the head, along with about 50 CDs, were stolen from a truck owned by the person who wears the costume at Wildcats events. Manhattan police estimate that the head alone is valued at about $2,000.
Alvin Enlow, Kansas State's cheerleading coach, said Willie will use his backup head until the original is recovered.
“Obviously, we don't want a Willie head out there,” Enlow said.
Truman the Tiger or Jayhawk have not been brought in for questioning, according to sources.
