National Treasure: Decent little adventure film. Nicholas Cage plays his usual charasmatic, goofy/Bruckheimer persona in this tale of an adventure hunter on the trail of a priceless treasure. The history is basically BS, but the film moves at such a breathless pace you wont dwell on it too much. Overall its basically an updated version of the Indiana Jones films. If you like action/adventure films, you will enjoy this flick.

Anchorman/Ron Burgandy: Funniest damn film ive seen in a long time! I dont know what i had been smokin/drinkin before i watched this thing but I laughed so hard I nearly soiled myself! Will Ferrell plays 1970's newsman Ron Burgandy, a legend in the city of San Diego. His anchor postition is challanged by a rival newswoman played by the luscious Christina Applegate. The jokes are of the cheesy/parody variety, but if thats your cup of tea (like mine) you will have a ball. Look for some great cameos by Jack Black, Vince Vaughn, Ben Stiller and Luke Wilson.

National Treasure was a very enjoyable movie. Anchorman was a disaster easily Will Ferrell's worst effort ever.

What?? Your kidding right?? Oh well, humor is so subjective and everyones opinion is different.

Harold and Kumar is a great comedy. How can you not like a movie that has a Neil Patrick Harris cameo? Freakin Doogie Howser all strung out.

I enjoyed Anchorman quite a bit too. Heard vary mixed reactions to it and National Treasure FWIW.

Yep,Anchorman was the double bill at a drive-in we went to last Summer and we left about 45 minutes into the movie.I may have to give it another look though as I had 3 kids with me that night and was more than ready to go.

OK I was wrong Elf was indeed worse. Believe it or not, as bad as NATR was, Anchorman was worse.

I was kind of disappointed with NT. There was not as much action as they led you to believe. Now I don't have to have a lot of action to make a movie like some. but when you go in expecting that and don't get it, there will be a little let down. It was actually a very good movie, just not what I expected going into it.

I have yet to see Anchorman. Haven't decided if I want to or not. I'm kind of funny when it comes to watching movies....

You watch too many movies for a young man, Jamie.

Are you talking to a lot of 12 year olds? That might explain it. A few funny parts, but for the most party pretty lame and stupid.

HS kids, mostly. Guess I'll have to re-evaluate.

That happens when you don't know that many people in town. Tonight was a depressing night, I wish I had spent it watching a movie.

I cannot help that I derive great pleasure from a good film. While it cannot be accurately compared to radio, film is the entertainment of my generation (or video games, which I also enjoy on occaision). It is hard to beat a good movie.

I agree with you somewhat. I said it was decent but not outstanding. I thought it needed one more 'great" action piece at the end but they never did it. It just sort of went dead at the end once they got in the cave.

I don't even think it had to be at the end, somewhere in the middle would have been perfectly fine. Again, not so much because it needed the action, but because that is the way they marketed it and that is what people expected. So ok, in that sense it did need it....

Heh heh heh. No, I went to a bar when my buddy didn't call. What a mistake, it was more depressing being alone and having people see me in that condition than being at home where nobody was the wiser.

And for me to find this depressing is quite a statement, I do all kinds of things alone that most people wouldn't because they would feel "depressed" or "uncomfortable" doing alone. I'll go to movies alone, eat at a nice restaruant alone, ect. But tonight bothered even me. I don't think I have ever spent New Years alone. Hell, after 22 of them, you would think it wouldn't be that big of a deal.....

Dude, you're talkin' to a dude who when drunk, can type flawlessly...so, when he does something stupid, he "pretends" to be drunk.

As far as the doin' stuff alone thing, I can relate. I'm the same way. But, yeah, NY's eve alone is like no other time....you need to check with a dating service (a real one; not an escort service).

You seemed like a nice kid. Good job. Smart. Conservative. What's not to like?

Ain't no thang to me.

But I am a rather independent person, and even a loner to some extent. I enjoy being around people most of the time, but at the same time I am also quite content to be by myself. I value close friendships greatly, but if those friends aren't around, I just make do with my own company. Infact, I often times find myself much more agreeable than other people. :D

Bah, screw dating services. If I am going to do something stupid like that, I'll just go ahead and go with an escort service.
