The way I see it, cowboys got the better weapons and got to go into town and carouse, assuming they aren't scalped. Indians, however, get casinos and government checks when all is said and done, assuming they aren't shot. Horses are darn fast and get hair in all sorts of colors, but they lack opposable thumbs and have to carry the other two. Indian for me, please.

I'd have to say by far and away- an Indian.

You get a cool looking teepee with a hot Indian gal, and you do nothing all day but smoke weed, smoke toads, peyote, opium, and all kynds of mind-altering substances. You get to live in the mountains, most likely by a stream of water.

They understood animal behaviors- were strong and courteous hunters and fishermen. They were excellent ethnobotanists. They were also very interested in the stars.

But, most importantly, they respected all living creatures and considered life to be sacred and the planet to be the mother of all things.

They believed in honoring your own relations and particularly- your elders.

They were very spiritual, but at the same time- grounded to respect the earth and all the creatures who roamed the earth- whether they were predators or domecile.

Cowboys did nothing but drink whiskey, eat beans and grits, and shoot each other over a game of cards.

Is it any wonder why we are the way we are now?
