I am so happy I never fell prey to their crap. I only wanted it for the Sunday ticket, but it doesn't sound worth it.

If you like watching TV when there is a slight breeze outside, minimal cloud cover, or a light sprinkle, it's not worth it.

Maybe with Dish Network, but that sure doesn't happen with DirectTV.

The one thing I coveted that Dish had and DirecTV didn't was GolTV, which comes to DirecTV channel 614 on March 1st.

Are you an avid goller or something?

I have had Dish Network since October. I don't seem to have the problems that Old Town has. Every once in awhile when it's raining really hard, the signal goes out. But that is a rare occasion and it is usually only for a few seconds. Most it's ever been out is maybe a minute or two. And that's always with the local channels first. The installer told me that the locals would be the first to go since the satellite with locals was a weaker signal. Anyhoo, I've been pretty satisfied overall. Their DVR is excellent. :thumb:

What's GolTV?

Soccer channel. Broadcasts games from La Liga (Spain), Serie A (Italy), and a host of various Central/South American leagues.

It will be a nice complement to Fox Sports World, which will "become" the Fox Soccer Channel on February 7th.

Uh...the axe is a little drastic. Just PM me when your contract is up. We'll come out and replace your dish and receiver with Directv. And use the same pole and wiring. The total cost will be $10 per receiver including freight and free install.

Direct TV is clearly the way to go. Ive had it for 3 years now and dont have one complaint, other than it goes out when it rains hard. Oh well, its satellite, what do you expect? I just got my first DVR yesterday and im impressed even more. pretty cool little box.
