Guys i've been on this board checking things and i don't like the talk on here.

Everyone blames the D for this season and while they are to blame look at the way the o played at the begining of the season they gave games away.

I think you guys need to give gun time to rebuild this D some players on this team are playing better under gun than others. I have a feeling this is the last hurah for us to win the superbowl for a while so i think we are gonna add some young d players along with some quality free agents.

My idea is this .

I don't think we are that bad off i think what is a pressing need is four positions.

MLB Mitchell is always out of position

cb I still question whether Warfield is that good but we definitely need a good cb oppisote him.

DE I'm done watching hicks go through the motions and then jump on someone else's sack so he gets credit.

FS Keep Wesley I think woods got old all of a sudden it's sad but it might be the truth or maybe he isn't fully back from the injury.

I'm in the Kendrel Bell or Hartwell camp for MLB

DE I get out of the draft

CB I give major money to one of the great ones in FA
Maybe a young one to replace warfield

In a dream world I'd love a guy like Derrick JOhnson

What we lack is a Playmaker on D a guy with fire who would fire up this team.

OUr d isn't that bad add a ray lewis type of guy the D would play with attitude and heart.

The only way i go with O in the draft is if Mike Williams or Braylon Edwards is there. I still think we need to get a # 1 receiver to take pressure off Gonzalez, holmes, and Johnson.

ok sorry for the long synopsis i just needed to get this off my chest.

RED STORM 2005???? let's hope so

You have a feeling this is the last hurrah?

Vermeil's final year... all your studs on offense (save Gonzo) are over 30. The defense has been a wreck for 3 years...

If 2005 is the last hurrah, then KC is going to have to spend big bucks to bring in no less than 3 stud defensive FAs. This thing can't be fixed in the offseason for a "last hurrah" in 2005 via the draft.

Sounds like Morton is gone, so who steps up...

Um, in case you haven't noticed, the Chiefs aren't a fledgling young franchise.

If the Chiefs are Rome, we're about to become the Byzantine Empire.

You think Samie Parker can't catch 55 passes next year?

Morton was nothing special.

I don't get it. First you say that everyone's overreacting about how bad our defense is, then you proceed to say that we need four new starters on defense. Isn't that what everyone else is saying?

You say give Gun some time to build his defense, and then you admit that 2005 is our last hurrah?

Color me confused.

Who knows what Parker can do... or Horn. Bo was supposed to be the next big thing. I can't recall, but I think he was injured at a time...

You know what trash my opinion i don't care.

Now in respect to me double talking listen to what i'm saying I feel that some of these guys are playing hard for Gun, but some aren't those are the guys to replace . I don't think we are in horrible trouble i've seen teams add two players who totally turn a D around.

As I said we need a player like ray lewis a leader , a playmaker, a guy with a lot of heart a leader on the field. Gun can only do so much. I miss Maslowski cause while he wasn't a playmaker he had the other characteristics. Could mitchell be this maybe but after two seasons i question whether he can.

I don't thik we are dead we lost a lot of close games this year we can turn it around. Hell everyone is gonna be doubting us anyways maybe this will be the motivation they need.

RED STORM 2005 ???? i HOPE SO

You guys are too impatient. If we just do these few simple things, that have BEEN CLEARLY NEEDED FOR FRICKEN EVER. . . we'll be just fine.

Rome wasn't built in a day, but at some point someone actually picked up a shovel.

He got hurt in preseason, yeah.

Morton's as good as gone so it will be interesting to see what happens.

We don't need a shovel. A new architect will clearly be enough.

you may have a point i seem for the past three years saying we need a playmaker on D and a CB and i know for two years i've said we need a # 1 WR. It would be nice to see them actually do what is needed

If the Chiefs are Rome, we built the city but forgot to add the aquaducts. Now we're screwed.

Coliseum season ticket holders are getting pissed, too. But all Nero cares about is putting butts in the seats. As long as the Gladiators put up a good fight, people will come to watch them, even if they keep getting their asses kicked by slaves and the Tigers are scrawny and old.

Read only memory? That was more like Robinson.

In this case, the reader correctly decoded the abreviation, but failed to see the analogy between read only memory in a computer and the reluctance of the coach to modify or "edit" his defensive roster. In cases where the turn of a phrase is not immediately obvious, the reader may either experience a bit of extra pleasure in the complexity of the joke, or may consider it not to be funny in the least.

Before anyone slams me let me say the Chiefs need much better production at MLB, 3 CB's, and FS. I also agree that another young DE is needed.

Now for my point, I believe if the Chiefs had a CB opposite Warfield perform as well as Champ Bailey did this year they would have won 3 more game and made the playoffs.

I don't think this D can be turned into a top 5 D in one year, but a top tier CB and MLB could turn them into a top 15 or better. They need veteran leadership at MLB and real talent in the secondary. But, this defense will not get better with more veterans like Holliday, McCleon, and Barber.

Unless there is a major defensive overhaul, expect the same wonderful season next year.

I seriously doubt there will be major changes, thought we may use our first round draft and get a punter and the second choice will be a kicker.

Then of course no one will be picked up on free agency. I hear they may switch Dexter and dante....that way Dexter can be a widereceiver.

Dante would make a killer replacement.

Rome wasn't built in a day, but you won't succeed if you buy the blueprints for Carthage.
