This is a pretty good deal for those of you within driving distance. Old Chicago is hosting a tourny and the winner gets the 10,000 grand to enter the WSOP plus free hotel and airfare. I just signed up at Old Chicago. Every week for 13 weeks they will have 4 tables of 10 people. The top 4 every week advance to the final. My math puts that to be 52 people. Those are pretty good odds, well IMO. The top chip leader out of the 4 every week gets a $500 poker chip set, and 2 $50 gift cert. to Old Chicago and Combined pool and spa. And it's all FREE to sign up. I was debating if I should post this because it might hurt my chances to be picked. But there hardly seemed to be more than 50-60 entries so far for this week so I figured what the hell.

Hehe. This reminds me of a time when a buddy of mine, who was pretty hammered at the time, told me about a dart tournament-"that nobody knew about"-where the winner would get a trip to Las Vegas to compete in the Valley Cup Championships. Valley is the manufacturer of electronic dart boards and it was a huge tournament; a lot of professionals competing in this one. Anyway, I remember his exact words, "Dude, I'm going to tell you something and you can't tell anyone else." So I sign up and he was right, there was not much competition, and I beat him in the finals to win the free trip. I've never let him live that down. ROFL

If I paid Poker, I'd consider it....Old Chicago is 9 blocks from my front door. :)

Yeah, if someone from here knocks me out and I get 5th and he gets 4th, I'll feel pretty dumb. :banghead:

Harrahs here in KC gives away a slot in the WSOP every month. so does the other casinos. I think they have expanded the WSOP field since it became a tv hit. It's not a big deal anymore.
