Hey guys, I know some people posted Moss and Droughns trading speculations, but here are some other issues going on across the League.
(Just wanted to make a quick note and say I was right about Moss going to the Raiders) Moss is going to the Raiders for CB Buchanon and a Raiders 1st or 2nd draft pick...
Good for Chiefs: Ty Law might not be too expensive, is Poole a FA too?
Jets are also trying to get rid of Hackett and interview our QB coach for the job... can you say Shea comming back as qb coach if Verduzco leaves....
Here is the report:
Randy Moss' former teammate, Cris Carter, said he would not be surprised to see Moss traded. In fact, Carter took it a step further. "I'm going to go on record and say that Randy Moss has played his last game in Minnesota," Carter said.

Reuben Droughns has asked the Broncos for permission to seek a trade and was given the OK. The NFL's trading season begins in early March, but a deal could be discussed before then. The Broncos likely would want a first- or second-round draft choice in return for Droughns, who broke out as a running back in 2004 to rush for 1,240 yards.

The Bucs are trying to make Travis Henry part of a revamped rushing attack. At least, that is what Henry has been told. He believes Miami, Arizona, Carolina and Oakland are also interested in him. Henry made his comments during an interview in which he expressed a strong desire to play for the Dolphins in 2005. The Dolphins, however, may not have the means to complete a trade. The Bills, who made Willis McGahee their starter this season, are believed to be seeking a second-round pick. Miami sent its second- rounder to Philadelphia last spring in the deal for quarterback A.J. Feeley.

Any morsel of bargaining power the Ty Law might have had with the Pats ended when Peyton Manning once again walked out of Gillette Stadium a loser. After the job cornerbacks Asante Samuel and Randall Gay did on Marvin Harrison and Reggie Wayne during the 20-3 rout of Indy, after the way the Pats were able to survive quite capably without both Law and Tyrone Poole during the past 11 games, it's hard to imagine the defensive back returning next season even if he changes his stance and agrees to restructure his deal.

As rumors of the Vikings' imminent sale intensified, offensive coordinator Scott Linehan was first out the door. Linehan interviewed Tuesday evening with new Miami coach Nick Saban and is scheduled to meet Thursday with Jacksonville coach Jack Del Rio. Vikings coach Mike Tice appeared resigned to Linehan's departure.
-- Minneapolis Star Tribune
Contrary to published reports, Linehan doesn't have a job interview scheduled at this time with the Jaguars.
-- South Florida Sun-Sentinel
Jaguars coach Jack Del Rio asked the Vikings on Tuesday to interview Linehan and was granted permission by Minnesota owner Red McCombs.
-- Jacksonville Times-Union
Linehan is credited with the development of quarterback Daunte Culpepper, who trailed only Manning with a 110.9 rating this season. Linehan is perhaps the most sought-after coordinator on the market and would be considered a coup for Saban, who takes a relatively hands-off approach to offense.
-- Palm Beach Post
The Jaguars are expected to hire former Cowboys coach Dave Campo as an assistant coach. Meanwhile, the Jaguars' search for an offensive coordinator is shifting into high gear, with interviews planned this week with Linehan and New Orleans' Mike McCarthy.
-- Jacksonville Times-Union
While embattled offensive coordinator Paul Hackett twists in the wind, the Jets are searching for possible replacements. It's believed they checked into Chargers coordinator Cam Cameron, whose contract is expiring. McCarthy and Linehan are drawing plenty of attention from teams.

Barring a longshot candidate, such as Southern Cal offensive coordinator Norm Chow, others the Jets might seek include, Mike Sheppard, Saints quarterbacks coach; Jason Verduzco, Chiefs quarterbacks coach; and Bruce Arians, Steelers receivers coach.

Jets GM Terry Bradway said the team would make every effort to keep Pro Bowl defensive end John Abraham, who will be a free agent. The same goes for the backup running back LaMont Jordan and defensive tackle Jason Ferguson.
-- New York Times
The club expects wide receiver Wayne Chrebet to return in 2005, Bradway said. Chrebet didn't seem sure of that Monday, saying he will evaluate his concussion issues before making a decision.
-- New York Daily News
The Jets must find more help at wide receiver. They aren't likely to be big spenders in the free-agent market, but Pittsburgh's Plaxico Burress is scheduled to be free and he's got size and scoring ability.

What's the irony in the Browns' interest in Eagles offensive coordinator Brad Childress as a possible head coach? The Eagles may be rooting harder than anyone for Childress to get the Browns' job -- so they can replace him at coordinator with Marty Mornhinweg, current Philadelphia assistant head coach and longtime confidant of head coach Andy Reid. While Childress gets much credit for the Eagles' offensive prowess -- the Eagles meet Atlanta on Sunday for the NFC title -- it's actually Mornhinweg who has major impact working with star quarterback Donovan McNabb.

No one is more qualified to help the Ravens than new offensive coordinator Jim Fassel. In the Giants' last five seasons under him, they never finished lower than 13th in passing and ranked in the top 10 three times. The Ravens had targeted Ron Turner as their offensive coordinator, but he decided to take the same position with the Bears. Fassel had wanted to return as an NFL head coach, but the only teams looking for one (the Browns and 49ers) never interviewed him.

Bengals coach Marvin Lewis said of efforts to re-sign tailback Rudi Johnson and wide receiver T.J. Houshmandzadeh, "In both cases, we have had good conversations with representation for both guys. Within the next two, three weeks, we hope to have discussion from their point of view back and see where things are. As we get closer to free agency, both sides have the opportunity to explore their options further."
-- Cincinnati Enquirer
Among the players said to intrigue Saban is quarterback Sage Rosenfels. But if Saban adds a quarterback to compete with Feeley, it would be tough to sell Rosenfels on returning as a No. 3.

Ray Sherman, the highly regarded wide receivers coach for the Green Bay Packers since 2000, will interview later in the week for an assistant coaching position with the Miami Dolphins.

Only days after Broncos quarterbacks coach Pat McPherson turned away newly hired Syracuse University football coach Greg Robinson's offer to be Syracuse's offensive coordinator -- McPherson said Saturday he did not want to move his family to New York and that he felt the Broncos had "a pretty good thing going" -- Robinson now is pursuing Denver tight ends coach Brian Pariani for the job.
