I liked the old 12-round draft better, as a fan. But, perhaps it was a bit too much. I would personally like to see a 10-round draft though. What do you guys think?

I think the current seven rounds is a bit too little.

Can you gives reasons to support your opinion?

Personally, I don't think there are that many teams that still have specific players they want by the end of round 7. Sure, they may have WR Y ranked above WR Z, but I doubt they lose any sleep over getting Z as a rookie FA. At that point they are drafting mostly camp fodder anyway.

I don't think so.

Most 7th round picks don't make the team anyway. Plus I like the signing of non drafted Free Agents.

No point in discussing this. The NFL Players Association doesn't want a longer draft, and the NFL isn't going to die on that particular hill, so it ain't gonna happen.

Funny that he gave no good reason.

My guess is it's just a draft dork, dreaming of a chance to spend more time coming up with bad mock drafts.

One good reason: The security of being a draft choice- rather than being involved in the mad scramble of RFAgency where cutthroat tactics often leave players with smaller contracts than they may otherwise have received as a draft pick.

If 7th round draft picks rarely make the squad, what makes a 9-10th rounder have a better chance? A 7th rounder doesn't have any more "job security" than the 5'5" 180lb Corner a scout notices at some obscure Community College and invites to camp.

I didn't notice Jeris McEntire on the active roster this season.

Personally, I think the Chiefs have enough trouble evaluating and selecting talent in the first 4 rounds of the existing draft...no need to Overtax these scouts.

Allegedly.

I think they Bunk with the Secondary Coaching staff.

not unless you expand the NFL rosters to handle the extra number of players.

there's already not enough to room to keep all the drafted players as it is.

Could you imagaine having to sit through another day of ESPN's draft coverage?

And here in the eleventh round we see the Chiefs selecting "Harem McDoublebush". I know nothing about him but damn is that a silly name.

Awe Jeez man! Seven rounds is plenty. Its bad enough the Chiefs can screw up 7 rounds, you want them to have 3 more shots at it?

Besides, how many times can you hear somebody say "with a Dante Hall, blah blah blah..." as if the player was part of a set:

"I would like one Dante Hall...no make that two please, One Joe Montana and better get three Dale Carters. Can't have enough good corners these days, hehe." "Sure, paper or plastic?
