View Full Version : If you could choose any one player to add to the Chiefs roster, who would it be?

Id probably want Kieth Brooking from the Atlanta Falcons. Hes not too old, and he is an extremely active linebacker who can play sideline to sideline, rush the passer, and makes a ton of tackles every year.

The Chiefs defense would instantly improve with a guy like him in the middle.

Keith Brooking, are you kidding me? Why not Ray Lewis or Al Wilson?

I'll take Dwight Freeney or Brooking's teammate, Patrick Kerney. In fact, probably Kerney since he will hold up against the run better and would be better suited to play opposite Jared Allen.

An all-world DE can help the run D and pass D.

You could also argue that one player won't affect KC's D that much and they would be better served by adding Terrell Owens, Randy Moss or Marvin Harrison.

Ray Lewis is getting up in age, and his durability is slowly beginning to wear down. And as for Al Wilson, isnt he the guy who Dante Hall usually Posterizes at least once a game when we play Denver?

Wilson is pretty good, but he's a Bronco and that kinda ruins him in my book based on general principle. I like Kieth Brooking. Kerney kicks ass too though. He was way up there in sacks this season, I think maybe tied for 3rd in the top 5 in the league. Either one of those guys would be awesome.

As for adding one of those WRs, it wouldnt shock me in the least to see the Chiefs once again take offense when they would have an opportunity at an all star defender. I think the Chiefs organization enjoys making its fans collective bloodpressure numbers skyrocket.

I think if we added a no. 1 WR, we'd average 40 points a game and we could win games with our horrible D.

Ed Reed or Teddy Brushci

Ed Reed is killer. He and Roy Williams are probably the best two young safeties in the league right now. If I were their respective organizations, Id be doing my best to lock them down long term.

Another good addition to the Chiefs would be a consistent, pro-bowl caliber kicker. I wouldnt even know what to think if the Chiefs had a kicker that they could count on in the clutch.

I think Nick Lowery is probably the best kicker that Ive ever watched play for the Chiefs. He was their kicker when I first started watching Chiefs football. After he went to the Jets, it all went downhill from there.

How about 1985 Mike Singletary.

I think they have found one in Tynes.

It's between Ed Reed and Marcus Stroud.

No question you take Ray Lewis, or if he doesn't fit the "profile" then maybe a Brian Urlacher or somebody with some real talent in the middle. I think that we would be a better team with a superstar middle linebacker, and our current DBs, then with a two or three superstar DBs, and our current crop of middle linebackers...

I'd go for a younger player:

DL: Kevin Williams (DT - Vikings. Has over 20 sacks in his first two years as a DT). He's what Sims should have been.

LB: Vilma.

CB: Dunta Robinson.

S: Ed Reed.

J. Peppers- then maybe Sims would play better too.

If we're gonna play that game, then I'll take 1967 Dick Butkus.

I was thinking the Ronnie Lott of 15-20 years ago.

Derrick Thomas and Neil Smith...Donnie Edwards too. Since it's a fantasy, might as well bring back Hasty too.

We would be kicking sooooo much ass...

Ray Lewis, Derrick Brooks, Lavar Arrington, Jevon Kearse, or Jason Taylor. A LB or DE are two positions where a single star player can make a huge impact on every play.

Just wondering, but you would really take Kearse or Taylor over Julius Peppers?

If it was to win now, this year, yes I would. If it was longterm I would take Peppers.

I think that the addition of LaDanian Tomlinson would shore us up at Running back. Without someone solid at Running back, we can expect to go no where. If you can't run the ball, you can't win. It all starts there.

How about 1985 Mike Singletary.

If we're playing that game, then I'd take Willie Lanier in his prime, with Bobby Bell in his prime, and DT at his best.

You could line those 3 up with any other group of LBs, and you'd be hard pressed to find a better group.

But in the real world, Ravens teammates of Hartwell think he is on his way to being every bit as good as Ray Lewis, so I'd take him as soon as he hits the FA market, if he does.

Nick was good, but Jan Stenerud was the best.
As of now, Jan is still the only pure kicker in the HOF.

MLB. Lewis if he was younger but Urlacher because he's got a longer career ahead of him.

1- Ray Lewis. Real simple. We need a MLB and he's the best in the business with a lot of good years still ahead of him.

My darkhorse would be Ed Reed though. Defensive player of the year who's one of the best playmaking safties I've ever seen.

Gets a lot of picks and when he does, seems to almost always end up taking it to the house.
