<A name=216604>Broncos | Offer Deal to Garcia - from www.KFFL.com
Mon, 28 Feb 2005 13:36:27 -0800Jeff Legwold (http://www.kffl.com/link/137), of the Rocky Mountain News (http://www.kffl.com/link/168), reports the Denver Broncos (http://www.kffl.com/team/15/nfl) have offered a contract to free agent QB Jeff Garcia (http://www.kffl.com/player/1592/nfl) (Browns). He would serve as a backup to QB Jake Plummer (http://www.kffl.com/player/43/nfl) in 2005 if he joins the team. Garcia met with Broncos (http://www.kffl.com/team/15/nfl) head coach Mike Shanahan (http://www.kffl.com/player/1964/nfl) at the NFL Combine (http://www.kffl.com/link/183).

It seems as if they don't want to unseat Plummer so they go out and try to get the crappiest QB available.

Honestly, Garcia is almost as mobile as the Fake, with twice the football intelligence. It makes sense, and I'd probably rather face PlummINT then Gaycia.

I think this signing makes sense for the Donks, they get a backup who can run the same plays as their starter and is just as mobile. Plus Garcia is a whole lot better then any of their other backups if I remember correctly.

He also was given an offer by the BUCS to backup GREE-Z after talking with Chuckie!

Is Garcia a playmaker too?

He was whenever he played the Chiefs, it seemed.

Then again, every QB seemed that way, didn't they?

Perfect. Instant QB controversy in Dungver.

Not much to say about this one... he'd be a better backup than Danny Kanell. I figure he'll go to Detroit or Tampa... better weather conditions for a 35 year old QB. He's got a *chance* to start in Detroit should Harrington continue to do nothing stellar and who knows if Griese has finally put his life in order.

He would be a better fit as a backup in Denver than anyone they have...

Back up Jake? You mean Jake wasn't the back up???

Would be a good move for the Donx, I'd be bringing in at least a viable option at backup.

Me too... considering his age, he'll likely return to the coach he knows and trusts the most. Plus that QB situation is kind of unsettled and looking at the youth around that offense and the potential explosiveness, Harrington has a short rope with Mooch.

This is just like the deal with Ty Law... he'll be a friggin Cowboy.

In my world, Denver will likely deal Pryce for a pick and lose Hayward to some team with a bigger offer and I'll be stuck settling for a trade that brings in DE Gerard Warren from Cleveland and hoping for the best.

I just hope Denver resigns Kennedy, Hamilton and brings in some of the quality 2nd tier Dline/DB guys that are on the market. I'm interested to see how this move to the 3-4 goes in Denver.

Who's going to play nose tackle in the 3-4? How do you see the front 7 shaping up then?

Seems like a good move... I like DJ Williams. Well, I think he's a good player.. for a Donk...

Probably... but, we'll see how it all falls into place. At this point, both of our defenses appear to have the same number of concerns.

Garcia would be nothing more than a back-up. He would be happy to come into Denver to back up Jake Plummer. There would be no quarterback controversy whatsoever. Plummer's job would be perfectly secure. Raymond Shaw is the kindest, bravest, warmest, most wonderful human being I've ever known in my life.

You are really on your A-Game tonight, aren't you? Nice subtlety with a good follow through.

Ignore the 6.2, Austria is still pissed over Karl Schranz and the low score is thrown out anyway.

You are insane. Garcia is not a liability in the red zone. Garcia does not get flustered and just throw $3it deep "because."

He's a vet, a solid player, and no doubt fairly comfortable with Shanny's offense already. It's pretty similar to what he was running in San Fran.

Also keep in mind that the 9ers offensive line was horse $3it by the time Garcia took over and he still managed to get the ball to Owens enough to make him a household name.

Donks land Garcia and I'd figure them for Division champs this year.
