Punk. He's been talking all that smack about running a 4.2something, and he doesn't even have the balls to work out.

Marlin Jackson ran unofficial 4.59 and they were saying he might play safety in NFL.

Didn't see Rogers or Rolle

imo that hurts jackson alot too ... his big hook was real big, real fast

now he's "free safety material"

Interesting... I think, based on the performances so far on CB's/DB's, that getting either Surtain or Rolle would be a better choice, and go for a LB or a DE on the first pick.

Niether Rolle nor Adams are working out.

I agree, I would rather sign a free agent CB like Surtain or Rolle and then draft a passrushing DE like Justin Tuck to challenge Hicks for a starting spot (or at the least sub in for him on 3rd down). Of course, trading up a few spots and picking Derrick Johnson wouldn't upset me...

Derrick Johnson participated/is participating in all workouts/drills today. No numbers on him yet.

wasn't this your opinion before today's DB results?

Yes. Because the fact that if you throw in a rookie CB in today's game, especially this no-contact rule that was applied more seriously than the games in past, then most likely the rookie would struggle.

Plus a team's secondary is only good as the front 4 and 7, based on putting pressure on the QB.

I like the deal. In my opinion, Surtain would be a better pick-up than Ty Law because he is younger (29) than Law (31), he will probably be a little bit cheaper, and there are no injury questions to worry about with Surtain. Giving up a second round pick for a player of this caliber is worth it and it also gives us an opportunity to spend our first round pick on another position. With the changes in the rules last season, I just can't see us spending a 1st round pick on a rookie CB, when we have so many other problems on defense. I just hope we are still able to pick up some quality linebackers and/or a pass rusher.

just wondering ... because you made it seem like the DB results led you to your conclusion ... when it was really your conclusion all along.

they don't time the cornerbacks, in the 40, once they get into the league.

Considering how good the Vikes have been lately, I don't think I'd call Ross an upgrade.

Wait.

I'm starting to see a pattern.

Is ANYBODY running a fast 40? It seems to me everybody is running slow...

This isn't the page I found, but it gives you an idea of what's happening.

I thought a lot of linebackers were running in the 4.6 range which is decent for a LB.

It's funny Brandt is saying D Johnson ran a 4.56, but when you watched the NFLNetwork live they had him at 4.65.

I don't blame you. I haven't been on the planet lately due to some personal issues that needed my attention first, so.

But yeah, that's my reasoning there, is that a experienced CB would do better than a rookie CB right now as of this moment.
