According to local sports in KC

If no Trotter, will go for Hartwell, which is promising due to staying overnight

The Chiefs need to stop F'N around with Trotter. If his price tag is too high then sign Hartwell and get it over with.

I'd pay more for Harwell than I would for Trotter.

Apparently Trotter's agent is still in town, but he's asking for more money than what the Chiefs are offering.

Kendrell Bell showed up at Arrowhead wearing what looked like a DT jersey.

At this point, I'd say it's a push IMO as far as who's the guy to go for.

So if Trotter wants more than what we can afford, then sign Hartwell and don't let him out of KC without a contract.

I don't where I read or heard it but apparently Trotter is looking for a double digit signing bonus and the Chiefs aren't going to give him that much and honestly who would blame them. Pierce only got 6 million.

What I got from the telecast is that Rolle is a lock, and that the Chiefs didn't want Hartwell to leave since Trotter had left...they DEFINATELY want one of those guys. Rolle will be a Chief, it's a matter of when, not if.

Dirk,

IMO, Trotter is wanting too much money, not for his play, but his so-so knees.

41 mentioned him, but showed no pictures. The other channels didn't mention Law, but did everyone else.

Sweet, didn't know he would be sporting DT. So far, he's starting off good terms with the fans as far as I'm concerned.

Check with the Flaming Can. Either he's giving Ty Law a shoe shine or pushing him around The Plaza in a wheelchair.

I don't think that either but Hartwell is worth more $$ then Trotter is.
Alittle younger, ALOT healthier and.....better!?

Could it happen?
New CB: Rolle
New MLB: Hartwell
New FS: Smith

Hmm....no :banghead:

Yep he is looking for his last big pay day. Rightfully so he carried the Eagles D on his back during their playoff and SB run.

There has been some speculation that this was agent planted story to ESPN and that Law hasn't been in KC at all.

And heavily front-loaded with guaranteed money. If he's not willing to take a lower signing bonus, it makes me wonder if he's concerned about his knees holding up as well...

I may be wrong about this but I like how the Chiefs have a backup plan for all their main targets, it seems. No Trotter, Hartwell. No Rolle, trade for Surtain, etc.

I've read that Rolle is the main target and Gunther's first choice for obvious reasons (Titan connection).

I could care less whether Law showed up in KC recently or not. Its common knowledge that the guy cant walk yet, so him showing up really wouldnt do any good.

Signing him before he can even walk would be foolish.

Im wondering if they might be considering signing Bell along with Hartwell or Trotter, because most of the stuff Ive seen concerning him says that he can play inside or out, and can rush the passer.

If the Chiefs could get him for a reasonable deal, (due to him being sorta injury prone) I would say to go for it because Barber isnt going to play for probably half the season, and Ian Gold has already been signed back to Dungver, and Anthony Simmons is most likely way out of the price range.

Gun likes to have a LB that can rush the passer on the outside. He had DT when he was running our great defenses of 95 and 97. Bell by no means is any comparison to Derrick Thomas, but he's damn sure better than Monty Beisel, and when he was healthy, he played really really well.

The whole Dwight Smith thing, I dont like. Dwight Smith isnt that good to begin with, and he has off the field issues also.

Rolle and one of those Linebackers would make me happy, that would be huge. Hopefully Rolle and Hartwell or Trotter. Anything they could get after those two would be fine with me.

I dont like the idea of Bell being our guy in the middle, but if he were brought in to pass rush on the outside after the CB and MLB issues were addressed, Id be fine with that, if he were able to be signed for a reasonable contract due to his durability issues.

Trotter's only 28. He wouldn't be even close to as coveted if he was a 31 year old linebacker, coming off a contract year, with bad knees.

Hahahaha. I guess my wishful thinking managed to slip into my typing. That was supposed to be the only reason Hartwell *stayed* was because he missed his plane. That would be the sweetest thing ever though if we find out tomorrow after missing his plane he decided what the hell and signed on with the Chiefs ROFL

No doubt about it. Hartwell is the guy I want to see in red myself. I think Trotter is a great player when he's playing, but I can see where there would be a lot of down time and missed games with those knees. As good as he is, he doesn't do the team a hell of a lot of good if he's sitting on the pine with ice bags on his knees. GO GET HARTWELL!

Walk nothing. He is on a motorized scooter, and can put 0 weight on his foot, if he wants it to heal as fast as possible.

Law said several days ago that he is not going to travel anywhere because it would be a waste of time. I think whoever reported Law scooting around the pavillion is FOS.
