Jeff Legwold, of the Rocky Mountain News, reports free agent CB Kelly Herndon (Broncos) will visit the Kansas City Chiefs Wednesday, March 9.

Kelly is a pretty scrappy guy, he is a hard worker. He isnt blessed with great height but he would be a very solid addition for you.

I don't think I'd want him to be our only addition, but I wouldn't mind having him. He played press coverage all last year and didn't do too bad of a job. We could do a lot worse.

28 years old.. cut 5 times as an undrafted free agent..humm sounds like Priest.. watch out.

Herndon would not be a terrible nickle back, but we have SEVERAL on the roster right now.

Unfortunately we do not. The only one who has ever done worth a shit at the nickel is Woods.

A huge one.

Herndon is one of the best value and most underrated players in the FA.

How do you get that? McCleon was toasted repeatedly every time he entered the game. Herndon held his own pretty much all season opposite Champ Bailey. I think he did fairly well considering he was on the hot seat every game because no one would throw at Champ...

Seems like you know a lot of HErndon for a chef fan.

You are right. The guy really held his own with our below average pass rush.

He deserves a chance..

Herndon would easily start for KC ( Current Roster ).

The only question would be whether he'd be your #1 or #2.

Herndon >>> McCleon, Bartee, and Battle.

I think you are remembering McCleon's play more fondly than it deserves.

When in doubt .... Go back and find the KC vs JAX game thread for a refresher.

That said ... I would hate to see you guys go after Herndon.

Unless it forces us to match rather than lose him to a division rival.

The Broncos pass rush was worse then ours yet they still had the 6th ranked pass D in the NFL. Herndon could start for us.
