Louisville 75
Memphis 74

Memphis missed two free throws at the end of the game to lose.

That was utterly heartbreaking. That was the best game I've seen all year, and that includes OSU/KU. The fact that Memphis had a chance to win at the end, when Louisville was 15 or 23 from 3 point range is amazing. DWash needs to keep his head up, because he was outstanding today.

From the other thread I made..

Did anyone just see the end of the C-USA championship? That was high drama. Memphis was down two with time running out and Darius Washington, a freshman, got fouled shooting a three with 0.0 on the clock... so he got 3 free throws, down by 2, no time left, a trip to the dance on the line. He swished the first one, then clanked the next one, and with everything on the line, clanked the third one and Louisville won the C-USA title. Amazing.

Also, Hunt, as hard as he played, killed the Tigers in the 2nd half. He took some poor shots and the charge at the end hurt bad.

Psi,

I was too numb to even yell anything. I didn't know how to react to that. I'm trying to think of a more heartbreaking loss....'73 vs. UCLA I guess? Final Four Villanova game wasn't even this bad.

I was just talking to God he said he's never been much of a basketball fan......especially since Jordan retired, so I wouldnt take it too personal.
He also wondered why you would cuss at him, since he wasnt the sweaty palmed clutching loser that missed the shots.

Wow, just saw that on ESPN. That's a tough spot for a player to be in, shooting 3 FT's, while all 3 are very critical to a win.

I bet that kid, who shot the FT, really is depressed, because he knew that he might have costed Memphis' season in the NCAA tourny.

OK, if so, why the hell would anyone care about the NIT?

Is there a more worthless tourney in all of sports?

I mean, if you win, you get the right to proclaim yourself #66!?!?

Hey, the Not Invited Tournament is the crown jewel in Mizzou's crown. Even if they get blown out the first game like they did last year. I had one MUron tell me today that Mizzou was, indeed eligible for that tournament. They consider it important. I guess I would too if my team wasn't good enough for the Dance.
