I haven't tried craftsmen.

Seems to be all about gunmen, clip size and repairing your walls. I almost got through day 6 (I had 4 gunmen by that point).

I have NO FREAKING IDEA how anyone could ever afford an assault rifle or pillbox...

Almost got through day 9 here. They were blitzing the wall like a bunch of Mexican soldiers at the Alamo.

I had 12-15 gunmen and 30 or so rounds. Let the gunmen take care of the long range and lay down machine gun fire at the wall.

Yep... that's as far as I got.

Build up that outer wall, repair, and increase your rounds as far as you can afford it. 2-3 gunmen are okay, but can be annoying when they take down the guy you're firing at. (waste of your ammo)

What is with the random values to increase the wall strength. I've seen $4,000, $3,000 and $8,000 on the FIRST purchase. I spent the $4K and 3K, and each time got 50 points increase in my wall, so it doesn't seem tied to the benefit??

GAH!!!

Died on level 12. 18 gunmen, 36 bullets, and a wall as strong as it gets (250 points). Only 1 craftsmen. Never bothered with either fortress (could never afford it) or the missile silo.

Starting on level 12, these guys with bazookas come out and only go a little ways in. They're easy to see because the bazookas are white, but the problem is you can't do the "wall defense" method. The bazooka guys also take at least 4 shots to kill.

I think I'm done with this game for now... Yikes is it addicting...

Interesting. I had more bullets, a better wall, but fewer gunmen, and died on level 12.

Man, guess I suck at this, can't get past day 4!

What is everyone buying first, clips, gunmen?

Rule 1 -- fix as much wall damage as is efficient. Wall repair comes in 20 pt. increments, so if you're at 98 points of wall, dont' spend $800 just to fix 2points of damage.

Rule 2 -- buy gunmen as soon as you can afford it. At least 1 every level where you have $2K or more.

After that, it's balancing. I bought my ammo such that I always had an even number of shots (i.e. 8, 10, 12), because it takes 2 shots to kill someone. So if I had $5500 to spend, I'd probably get 1 gunman, 2 ammo, and carry over the rest.

Upgrade the walls where possible, but you should only do it if you can afford to buy at least a little bit of ammo and maybe one gunman. It depends, though, since walls have different cost numbers for some reason no one understands.

Seriously, though, with that many gunmen and silo workers, did you feel like your gun wasnt' even contributing to the battle? It just seems that you might've felt like a guy with a BB gun in the middle of a Star Wars fleet battle. :)

 Actually with the sniper rifle you could kill tanks in one or two shots (vs 8-9 with the regular gun)...but eventually there got to be so many tanks that you couldn't kill em fast enough before they would take 150 points off your wall in a blink of an eye....if I had more silo workers and less gunmen at that point it might have been better

craftsmen aren't worth much until the higher days.

load up on gunmen as soon as you can and keep buying as many as you can.

improve wall strength when you can

then continue to buy more gunmen, but try and build up your saving to get rocket(35k) and silomen.

Let the record show that I made it to day 63.

I had 100 gunmen, and probaby didn't buy any for the last 30 levels.

I had 220 bullets by the end, but I was at 100 for a long, long, long time.

I went almost exclusively with Craftsmen and Silo Workers after a certain point, and had 81 craftsmen and 92 Silo Workers at the end, and daily support costs of approximately $220,000.

Actually, anybody that gets past level 18 or thereabouts has accomplished everything that skill has reasoanbly accomplish. By the end, it's more or less clicking as fast as you can into such a big pile of tanks you have barely any idea whether you got all of them in that particular cluster.

And now I need to see a doctor about the tendonitis / repetitive stress disorder in my right hand...

Yeah, I stopped at level 27. I had 60 gunmen, 25 craftsmen, 30 silo workers and 125 bullets, fully upgraded. At that point my walls stayed healthy pretty much the whole time and all I had to was click on the tanks when they showed up.

I had to stop on level 5 because of phone calls, then a hot demand came in for a 4:00pm deadline today. I worked till midnight last night to get half of it done.

Only to find out that today the server is down and they extended the deadline until tomorrow 4:00 pm.

I'm at day 65... I feel like I could go on until 100 or more. At this point it doesn't seem to be getting any faster or harder...

I've been adding only gunman and clipsize. And occasionally more craftsman if I feel I'm losing ground on "health".

My stats...
Day 65
Gunman 400
Craftsman 112
Silo workers 40
Bullets/Clip 396
Payroll 209K
$140300 to spend after level 65.

BTW the game is starting to not become profitable. I am spending a $140,000 on payroll. I need to lose some employees.

If I were you, I would consider outsourcing some of your work to India.

Random bump for a game that amused many of us a year or so ago...
