From the Atlanta BB: Bell is the 3rd ranked LBer

Below is the Top of the Board on the Scout's 2005 NFL Free Agent List (A looooong list). As you can see Hartwell is in the Top 15 of all free agents and the 4th highest rated Linebacker. A Rating of "79" is the highest rating in the "Solid Starter" Range and one point before the "Outstanding Starter" range. All this, and Hartwell is still very young. This would be a great signing for the Birds. (Sorry if this list is a little hard to read)

But he is the first one on the list that was available to us! Peterson was franchised & Trotter wanted to stay put.

This list says that he is better than Hartwell, so that is a positive!!!

Of course, two years from now when he tanks, everybody will be talking about how Bell was a "scrub", just like what happened with Barber, who was in a similar position on such lists...

If he will produce for the next couple of years I'll believe we got our money's worth out of him, because by at least the 3rd. year we will be rebuilding.

Of course, I hope he recovers and finishes our a H.O.F. career right here in K.C.... but, what I want to see is impact players on D for the next couple of years ... and maybe just this coming year. If we win it all, will be more pleasant to rebuild.....

I hope that Barber comes back healthy, so that he can show us what he can do in a real defensive system, with a real LB next to him.

He was a good player in Philly.

Not superstar, but better than he's been able to show here.

That must be an old list because many of those guys were franchised before they hit FA.
