When's the last time we had a really good "us against the aliens" flick?

Alien Siege was on scifi a few weeks ago.

Yeaah looks hella good...saw the trailer tonight when I went to see Ring 2...which was okay if you ask me I wasn't impressed with the first one but I got talked into going to the second one...I'm glad I went if only for the previews

The last alien flick that I really liked was Encounters of the Third Kind.

Though, I should give a mention to Fire in the Sky. That one affected me a little. The helpless horror of the scene where he woke up in that pod still haunts me.

Starship Troopers gave me the creeps thinkin that such a huge, greasy, stinky turd of a movie could have Robert Heinlein's name attached to it.

Looks pretty sweet...Nice to ssee Spielberg get back to his Sc-Fi geek roots in the past few years with Minority Report and now this. If you freeze frame towards the end you can catch a few seconds of the new War Birds hovering over a Pherry boat.

Then go see the movie. It's called marketing, douche.

The Star Wars trailer showed a hell of a lot more cool stuff than this one.

When is the last time that they made a good remake in Hollywood?

And Tom Cruise is just about the most overrated actor ever.

They could have done far worse. Dakota Fanning is an amazing little girl, too.

Because you know what happenes/how everyone looks, there is no suspence.

Check out the ORIGINAL "War Of THe Worlds." (1952) Pretty damn cool.

It's in my video collection. One of my all time favorites.

I've never seen the movie, but I have heard a recreation of the origional radio show...pretty cool. Is the movie pretty much like the radio show?

Hell yes. That movie still sticks in my mind. Seriously screwed me up for a period of time.

Right of the top of my head, the only one I can think of is Oceans 11. Usually the remakes do nothing more than make the original look a lot better.

Yeah, I wasn't so hot about driving home from the theatre that night.

Plus I go backpacking alone in the woods with just my dog at least 5 times a summer. Of course, cougar and bear thoughts take my mind off of alien toughts during those trips... ;)

Ack - Ocean's 12 sucked. The Bourne Supremecy would be a better example of a good sequel.

Shrek II and Toy Story II were both good. Then you have the LOTR movies but those really don't count since they're all kinda one long movie...

Maybe this is new to you, but it has been out for awhile now.You might've looked at the wrong one. Teaser #2 wasn't online until last night, and it wasn't supposed to be attached to flims in theaters until today (although Denver Chief says he saw it last night).

I've never seen it. Aliens are my greatest fear. Should I pursue a viewing?

Every movie made out of a Heinlein book has been crap.

At least he doesn't have as much to complain about as Asimov. Did you ever see the movie based on Nightfall? Don't even get me started about I, Robot.

They are talking about remakes, not sequels.
