shit, Boston been getting paid since 2001 Superbowl...

plus they had the Celtics for all those years... We had one Royals Championship and the 1988 NCCA tourney in this area, since I have been a sportsfan, but that was over 16 years ago.

Im looking for some fucckin gratification.

The three guys coming in are Mario Chalmers (6'2"), Micah Downs (6'8") and Julian Wright (6'8"). Chalmers is supposed to be an absolute stud. Downs is a good shooter small forward / shooting guard. Don't know much about Wright.

I'll always have fond memories of Big Dub despite this game. Simien is a stand up guy if you've ever gotten to meet him and he played with heart and always has. Best of luck to him in the future. On another note, **** Giddens and his two cent head.

You think Roy had enough pride to thank Dougherty for his recruits after he stabbed him in the back and took his job?

Fumble Anders is not without blame, to be sure, but if Charles Mincy would have just held onto the ball in the first quarter when he stepped in front of Pete Metzellars, he had a wide open field for a touchdown. That would have been the mother of all momentum swings.

Cleveland, Phoenix, Cincinnati, Indianapolis, Philly, New Orleans, and Seattle all suffer the same curse.

Cleveland Indians went to a World Series in the late 90's, and Ohio State won a football NC in 03.

Phoenix (Arizona) Diamondbacks won a World Series two years ago, and Arizona bball won NC in 97.

Cincinnatti Reds won a World Series in early 90's, and Ohio State won a football NC in 03.

Indianapolis (Indiana) Pacers went to the NBA Finals a couple years ago, and the Indiana Hoosiers last won a NC in 87, made the championship game in 02, and have been to numerous Final Fours.

Philadelphia Eagles went to the Super Bowl this year, the Sixers went to the NBA Finals a few years ago, the Phillies went to a World Series in the 90's, and the Flyers went to the NHL Finals in the 90's (Philly does have it pretty bad).

New Orleans had only 1 sports franchise up until last year, so they hardly count. However, LSU did win the NC in football a year or two ago.

Seattle Sonics went to the NBA Finals in the 90's, and the Washington Huskies won a football NC in the early 90's.

NO ONE compares to the agony of being a Mizzou fan in Kansas City.

Went to, went to, went to. Went to is not winning.

KU has been to numerous final fours as well.

And if you are counting college baseball in your equation, you certainly should be counting the Wizards championships, indoor soccer championships and Hockey titles won by KC teams over the last 5 years.

Like I said, I am talking about a Mizzou fan in KC, not a Kansas fan. So that would mean a fan of Chiefs, Royals, and Mizzou.

I am not counting college baseball, where did you see that at.

Also, going to your sport's national championship game should count for something. It is better then not going at all, IMO.

I misread one of your quotes on the baseball thing, mea culpa.

As far as your last statement, I disagree. No one remembers #2. And many times, #2 is just embarrasing - see OAK vs TB

You also realize many of the colleges you listed are nowhere near the cities I listed?

Whether people remember #2 or not, as a fan you still have the satisfaction of making it to the big game. Who cares if other people remember it or not?

Also, the distance from the college to the actual city is a moot point. The college that I named is the main college of the state, so the large majority of people in that city would be fans of that particular college.

Using that analogy, you must go with KU over MU simply because I would venture to say that the KC Metro area has a great deal more KU than MU fans.

I wouldn't say that KC has more KU fans then MU fans at all. If anything it is a draw, depending on what part of KC you are in. But KC is different then most cities because it lies on the border of two states, so you can make a claim for either state team in that city. However, my whole point was to show that a Mizzou fan in KC has had it worse then the other cities you named.

The football team I root for has not won since the year before I started watching them, 34 seasons now. My baseball team has won 1 world series in 1982 and lost 4 since I started watching them. I have rooted for a couple of teams in the NBA, they have won 2 titles but none since 1983. My alma mater hasn't been in the top 5 since the 50s in football in the final poll, and went one stretch 20 years without a winning season. Their basketball team hasn't been to the final four since 1980.
Let me say I don't cry for Red Sox fans since they have had the Celtics, Patriots and Bruins win multiple championships. Add to that, they swept my Cardinals. The Cubs are going on a century without success.

Every year, just good enough to be let down. Im so sick of mediocrity.

Jeez, it doesn't seem so bad until you put it in writing like that....

Last night I was in one of those moods though.... a few nights ago, they had the season highlights on the Bill Self show, and there were some great moments, and I was thinking about how despite the crap about losing to MU or losing 4 of 6, it was a good regular season.

I was thinking about those same highlights after the game last night thinking, hmmmm.... what are all those memories worth? The tournament would be just as good if I weren't attached to one team. After all, I watch the ACC tournament and other NCAA tournament games without caring who wins (well, past my bracket).

I don't get people that proudly wear the badge of "I'm a true fan, because I've suffered". Suffered for what? Then, of course, I'm a p*ssy because I let these thoughts of not caring anymore into my mind, because one day there's a chance that for a relatively short period of time the team I follow will the the National Champion.... and the meaning of being a fan is buried beneath some guy that waited 81 years for the Red Sox to win a World Series, but died before they did.... because he's what we should all strive to be.
