very nice
I wonder how long it takes to get one of these babies.(and the cost)
I have been back ordered until Oct for a GT. It will end up being an
06 model....same as 05, only higher.

Nice ride, but does is have enough mojo to get slayer or gochiefs laid?

I think not. That's asking the impossible. Even for a Shelby.

I looked at them all over the internet. Checked KC, St. Louis.

Black with Red interior and all the other upgrades was not found. I am fully loading the thing.
Still looking today.......if I run across one, I will grab it up and cancel
the current order.

The car looks fabulous but the wheels bite.

Frazod
03-23-2005, 02:44 PM
Very nice. Still looks similar to mine, with a few differences (like the front spoiler and the WARP SPEED ENGINE). The interior is very close, except my seats are all red where the Shelby's are black and red.

I can get the racing stripes in either black or white - its a dealer install for the regular models. If I bother to do it at all I'll probably get the black. I don't care much for the white stripes.

Considering the prices of cool cars, 35K is pretty damn cheap.

I think the SSR is an image vehicle for GM, similar to what the Prowler was for Chrysler. High volumes were never intended for either one of them. Consequently costs are much higher due to the low volume of these vehicles. Many of the parts are custom, and others are very low volume.
The Shelby Mustang has many shared parts with the GT and V-6 models so costs are lower. just my take on it for what that is worth.

My question is can you get it without the cheezy boy-racer stripes and other assorted cheeze? Probably not.

Nice car, would have loved to have that motor in a fox body car. It's all about the era you fall for the mustang, I love the fox body. I've owned a 79', 91', and 93'. Bought the 79' when I was 16. One of these days I'm going to find a virgin 93' coupe and when I do, it's mine.

GM is absolutely getting creamed in the style department by pretty much everybody. The new Chevys suck especially hard. They ruined the Monte Carlo and the Impala, and even the Corvette doesn't look as good this year. Pontiac has a new GTO, but it sure as hell doesn't look like the old ones - just another bulbous monstrosity that some fuqtard at GM thinks I should find attractive. And oh yeah, they want the same money for it as a Mustang GT. Sorry guys, no takers here.

I've always been a GM guy in the past, but GM offers NOTHING that even comes close to matching the new Mustang, especially for the money.

If the Chevy guys would pull their heads out of their asses and make a retro Chevelle that actually LOOKS LIKE A CHEVELLE, I might take a look.

I would also like it if they brought back a retro Camaro, based on the '69.

But while I'm ripping on Chevy, WTF is up with that SSR thing? YUCK. An overpriced, ugly-assed pickup truck that can't haul anything? :shake:

By the way, here's a link to the SSR (http://www.chevrolet.com/ssr/) .

Speaking of Chevy - it's not a hotrod, but the new HHR (http://www.chevrolet.com/hhr06/) is kind of interesting, though it reeks of "me too" regarding the PT Cruiser.

The Mustang has traction control. That plus a weighted trunk and careful driving should negate the worst of it. Just keep a couple of big bags of sand handy for icy days.

Also, if you're trying to appease the wife, tell her you'll opt for the V6. As long as you don't drive the V8, you'll be plenty happy with it. The cost is about $5,000 less, and the car is still fast as hell. Gas mileage is around 25 on the highway, which is pretty typical for a V6.

Mine, with every interior/exterior upgrade, was $23,500. Not all that expensive considering what the average car costs these days.

Personally, I'm probably going to get some sort of beater next winter so I can keep it in the garage - not because I'm really concerned about the roads, but because I want to keep the car safe and clean in the garage.

Sweet car BD!!

I do not like the new models that are coming out. If they want to use the name of an old car, please keep the body style somewhat close to what the old classics were. STOP ****ing up the vehicles!! I hate Mustangs.

Now, I would be that the new Caddi convertable could get GoChiefs and others laid.

WTF are you talking about? The 2005 Mustangs are almost exact copies of the Mustang from 1967-69. Interior/exterior etc but with some nice accesories. 500 watt CD x6 and MP3 player with 6 JBL speakers. Chrome spinners, Leather interior etc etc.

Got the wife talked into buying one. Gonna make an offer tonight.

Doesnt look to far off from the classic muscle car if you ask me?
