$8,000+ worth of camera equipment...
My newspaper is currently using digital cameras for most of our work, but sports is a different story. So I decided to do some math... I took an average of the past three months of film and processing and projected that out over the year. If that projection pans out, we'll use 1120 rolls of film that will cost us about $3 per roll to develop. That equates to just under $9,000 worth of film and processing...
So using those numbers, I went to the publisher and sold her on $8,000 worth of camera toys... and spending eight grand up front and recouping costs within the first year is a great investment. I'm hoping this may translate into a raise for me sometime soon... haven't had one in three years.
Canon 20D, with a 28-70mm f/2.8L and a 70-200mm f/2.8L
2 Canon Digital Rebels with 28-85mm (kit lens) and one 70-200 f/2.8L
2 550EX Canon Speedlites
And a few add-on toys...
The real crappy part of it is since I'm not in the news/sports departments anymore, I don't even get to play with these toys! :deevee:
