Was listening on the radio last night and heard a guy talking about how grading a draft before the players even suit up is stupid. He said you have to wait at least three years to see how the players develop.

With that in mind how would you grade the Chiefs 2002 draft:

1. Ryan Sims
2. Eddie Freeman
4. Omar Easy
5. Scott Fujita
7. Maurice Rodriguez

Ugh.

Fooj and maybe Sims (I'm still holding out hope, damnit, even if it looks grim). That's it. Otherwise we got a teammate-bashing washout, a fullback who couldn't play fullback, and a one-armed linebacker.

Scott Fujita saves it from being an F. D.

You expect alot more from the #6 pick in the draft than what we have gotten from Sims. Fuji certainly has played at better than a 5th rounder but is really only a serviceable NFL starter with some very real skill issues. Certainly an upgrade over Bush. I gave it a D. Only 2 players still on the roster after only three seasons.

Ooops, teach me to read the actual title next time. Assumed this was on the 2k5 draft. Please change my A to a C.

I give it a "D"... too bad it didn't give us a D.

Nah, just "skimmed" the thread title and didn't see the 02 part. Actually, I almost ignored the thread thinking, "how many freackin' grade the draft threads do we need?!?!"

:D

No better than a D. Typical Carl.

D. Which stands for disaster. That's what this draft was. D also stands for disappointment, which is what Sims has been so far. If he doesn't produce at an overall #6 level this year, he's a bust...

Ive always sais that draft is one of the BIGGEST reasons we are where we are today and we didnt make it to the Superbowl. We needed to upgrade the defense and Vermeil and Company tried but failed. We are continueing to pay for it to this very day.

2005 A

CP - overall C

one/two good drafts doesn't move 16 years of avg.
2005 isn't weighted any higher.
