what happened? He's still there, and so is Attaj Hawthorne. If anybody can get any one of these guys sooner or later. I would think it is a late round steal.

I am excited about those 2 also. Plus Shazor and Nicholson 2 safeties that I like are left.

Shazor could be an OLB prospect too.

Also Mosley would be nice.

I heard Hawthorne tested positive for maijuana at the combine.

Shazor is still available too.

Hawthorne couldn't stay away from the sticky long enough to pass a drug test at the combine. That's just a whole new level of stupid. Hope he got really good and stoned, because it was a million dollar joint he was smoking.

I probably like Shazor the most.

I'd take either. I really wanted to grab Will Poole when he was falling last year too. I wasn't a Hawthorne fan in day 1 but getting him or Browner with our 6th would be quite alright by me.

I think teams view Browner as a CB/safety tweener. He might be a little too tall to be an effective CB in the pros.

I am still dumbfounded that CJ Mosley is on the board, I thought he would be a 2nd rounder for sure. I would love to see us trade up to draft him, he will be a great player.

I don't get how Browner has fallen this far. Did he break his neck or something? Sporting news had KC drafting Browner in round 1!

There has to be an explanation.

Shazor ran a 4.7. Damn that's too slow.

I liked the guy for the way he hits, but I don't think I want a 4.7

This is why many teams put too much stock in 40 times. For these guys to have been so productive in college, they have to play faster than their stopwatch speed.

Browner is 6'3 1/2 and weighs 221. Any chance he adds 10-15 pounds and plays OLB in the NFL?

ARC must be a little disappointed that his boys are getting dissed. OSU's other CB was supposed to be pretty good too, but I don't think he's gotten picked yet either.

Yeah, it's pretty surprising. My wife is a Lion's fan (left over from the Barry Sanders days), so that was okay, though I wanted him on the Chiefs.

I thought Browner made a huge mistake coming out early. I am surprised he fell so far, though. Kind of like Weathersby a few years ago (though that was partly because of the gunshot injury).

The other CB is Aric Williams. I thought he had a great year last year, since most teams threw away from Browner. I didn't expect him to go until the 6th or 7th,though, because of his size.

How shitty would it be to expect to be a 2nd or 3rd round pick, and then not get drafted at all. I hope we take Browner with our last pick, he has more potential then the stiff from Baylor.

Shazor will probably be OLB in the pros. There's going to be some very talented UFAs. I think teams can start signing them right after the draft's ended. Hopefully the Chiefs are on the horn with some of them.

I'm very surprised Browner did not get drafted. That slow 40time may have scared people off, but as an Undrafted FA, the risk is nil, hope we give him a call tonight!

Well during the Mike Brown GM days in Cincy that was certainly true...Prior to this draft I would have said it true of Carl Peterson also. :D

Just to touch on Shazor, I feel he'd be an excellent prospect to bring into camp. Since joining the University of Michigan he's put on a lot of weight trying to bulk up to Big 10-Saftey size, so projecting him to OLB is a bit of a stretch. The growth potential just doesn't seem to be there. On the other hand, he's as fast and hits harder than most OLB's--so size might not be that big of a factor.

The Saftey position, on the other hand, is changing in the NFL. Safties, especially, free-safties are having to cover more ground in two-deep schemes, and teams are only comitting 7 to the box.

You need speed to be a saftey, and bulk to play OLB--he has neither. BUT, he's a quality youngman with the chance to be special if he could some how bulk up or become faster.

Would be nice to see him on special teams in the preseason to see where he stacks up among the rest.

I agree with posts on Browner. He was ranked top-10 in corners for much of the offseason, and I had even seen him projected as a top 20-pick in this weekends draft. His 40's times might have scared some people off, but his father is Keith Browner, the former NFL lineman.

I feel the problem with Browner is length. Scouts want tall corners, but want guys who can flip their hips and get out of their back pedal, while a player that's 6'4 will struggle to do that. I would not be suprised to see him on the other side of the ball at WR if he joins an NFL ball club.

With that being said, I don't understand the logic of him not going when other players of lesser ability went.

Lenny Walls is 6'4 and has turned into a decent CB.

Considering we have garbage behind Surtain and Warfield with the exception of Phonso that we just drafted, you would sure think Browner's agent would be targeting KC as a possible FA signing...

I don't know if it was last week, but a month ago I saw one like that. I about shit, since I didn't like the guy. But now that he's a FA, there's nothing to lose bringing him and seeing what he's got.

Even with the slow time id love to see us bring Browner in. While he is an odd size for CB (possibly too big) he might make a nice FS. And if we sign him maybe he could borrow Woods's "speed coach" ;)
