He won the Heiman Trophey (no I didn't misspell it). None of those winners at QB ever succeed in the NFL. This is a mercy check because Carl likes the kid. He won't even make the practice squad.

Well hes obviously a Heisman Trophy for something. People say it was the WRs that were around him but there has to be a guy that has to get him the ball. He has a good arm. I think he would bew better than James Killian.

Not to mention but he was top 3 in voting I think this past season in the Heisman voting.

Short answer, no. That is unless you're talking about a Canadian franchise.

Heck, why not give him a shot. We didn't sign him to a free agent contract, just invited him to try out. Maybe even put him in NFL Europe for a time to see if he has the game for the pro level.

Not really going to hurt us in the long run if he doesn't pan out. We can always fall back on Todd Collins.

With Eric Crouch somewhere on the rolls, does that mean we have more former Heisman Trophy winners than any other NFL team?

Baseball teams take a lot of catchers to Spring Training because they try out a lot of pitchers. I think they need a lot of scrub QB's to keep from wearing the good ones out throwing to all the receivers in camp.

I LOVE JASON WHITE.I have watched all of OU's games. But there is one thing about Jason. He chokes in big games. And I'm not sure if his knees can handle the NFL.But I would have no problem if we fixed a few problems with him.

How are they going to fix that rag arm? How are they going to undo two knee surgeries? How do they make him mobile when he isn't? He's got nothing going for him. The dude is camp fodder.

Just a thought. Trent didn't have great college stats either. White only started two years in college....that's not a very large sample size.

Fixing arm strength isn't that difficult(sp).Thats why I said if he stays healthy and doesn't have problems with his knees he could turn out to be a good QB. About the mobile thing,I don't ever remember Trent Green being that mobile. And look at him.

Everything about the dude needs fixed. Why not just get a guy that has most of it already. Did you see the block Green threw on that LB? And it was well outside the left tackle. He beat Priest to the spot.

You havn't seen him play in the NFL.You can't say he has way to many problems.

He refused to sign a contract. He is currently working with the NCAA to get an 8th year of eligiblity. Yet another medical redshirt year for Jason White. :D

Mobility isn't about being able to scramble like a Fran Tarkenton, Roger Staubaugh, John Elway, Steve Young or guys like that.
Mobility is being to move in the pocket away from pressure and getting yourself into position to make a play in the passing game.

And is that regard, Trent Green is actually fairly mobile.

I think Jaws calls it "sliding away from pressure".

I won't say he won't ever amount to anything, because he has some NFL level skills. He's pretty bright, he retains the system, and ..well, thats it. He can't read defenses very well, and is TERRIBLE at picking up blitzes. He doesn't have arm strength, he has limited mobility, and he is injury prone.

I pretty much hate all Blow-U players, but Jason White is no longer a Blow-U player. He isn't even a Chief yet. He's a nobody. Once he signs a contract, then i'll go homer.

To OU it's like kicking a dead man... it might bring some satisfaction but it ain't much of a challenge...

To teXas it's like their national championship... since they can't get to the dance anyway...

It's called "escapability" and Trent is amazing at it. He just makes a little twitch on direction or the other and the d-lineman that was going to crush him harmlessly slides off his back.

White played at Oklahoma, surrounded by all-world talent on both sides of the ball.

Trent played at INDIANA.

Jason White will never make it in the NFL.

Everyone says White doenst have an NFL arm, well people were saying that about Tom Brady whenever he was drafted in the 6th round, and looked how well he turned out. Trent played at Indiana and didnt start in this league until 1997 I think in Washington. You know, Trent doesnt exactly have the best arm in the world either. He sucks at throwin the deep ball, though accurate as the best of them within 20 yards. You dont havta have a strong arm to play in the NFL. Accuracy is the most important thing. Jason White has that, and when you add mobility, you can make plays that doesnt force you to throw hard, or deep. White could be a good NFL QB some day, hopefully for us.

John Huarte. Position: quarterback.
College: Notre Dame. Heisman 1964.

But I lied, he was not drafted by the Chiefs, but played for them in 1970 and 1971.
