View Full Version : Saturday Night in DENVER???!!!!

That's right, I'll be in the belly of the beast this weekend. The wife and I will be spending the night in *erk* DENVER :grr: Saturday before heading on to Grand Junction on Sunday. Assuming we don't get in too late, I wonder if any of the BB Denver guys would like to get together somewhere.

Assuming all goes well, I hope to hit the Pile High Shitty around 7:00 p.m. Don't know where we're staying yet, but I figure we'll grab a room at a Super 8-type motel in the downtown area off I-70 (any recommendations would be welcome). Anyway, if anyone would like to hook up for dinner/drinks someplace, let me know.

Obviously any travel-related delays could screw this up, and regardless it won't be a late night for Frazod after being in the car all day - the plan is to drive as far as Des Moines Friday night and head for Denver Saturday morning).

Anyway, if any of you guys have Saturday night open, I invite you to share a beer/scotch with a pilgrim in an unholy land. :D

What is the name of that big Mexican resaraunt that is painted pink on the outside and has the waterfall and shows inside? Casa something or another isn't? That is a fun place to eat, and if I recall, it is all you can eat. Any of you Denver blokes know the place I am talking about?

I've grown fond of Holiday Inn Express, and stayed in the Brighton location back in Feb. It was nice:
http://www.ichotelsgroup.com/h/d/ex/1/en/hd/hrsco?irs=null

Plus you then have the great line "no but I did stay..."

Seriously, it was a nice joint for the $$, and had a nice free breakfast bar.

That would be great - the only problem would be if you alter your plans and then something happens so that I don't make it in until late (always a risk with long drives). I'm generally extremely punctual - but can't control things like road construction, crappy weather or the odd 20 car pileup.

Also, I'll be heading back the same way on the following Friday - we could always hook up for lunch then.

Either way it's your call.

And here I am!

Other than the mini-blizzard we hit near Vail, the trip was uneventful. I'm in Grand Junction (extreme western side of CO) and I'm looking forward to a week of mountain vistas and no lawyers.

So, have I missed anything important?
