I like to put dollar bills in the "Change" game. The game isn't as exciting as video poker or slot machines, and the machine itself is such a drab brown color. The thrill when my winnings drop down in the bin makes playing the game worth it.

I usually break even.

I usually lose $100. I don't go very often. It's not too exciting for me.

Losing money has never been very exciting to me.

Yeah - I think that's only happened twice. Fortunately for me, my wife is probably the luckiest woman alive. So she more than makes up for my loss. It still sucks though. I may need to plan something down at the boats for she and I in the near future. We haven't been in years.

It never ceases to amaze me at all the people that win all the time at the boats and Vegas. How in the world do those businesses pay their bills?

People who win are the only ones who will talk about it.

You don't generally broadcast "I just lost my children's inheritance at the boats last weekend". Heh heh.

For years I have said people who claim to consistently win at casinos are one of two things. 1. Damn poor accountants 2. Damn liars

I like to go with about 4 to 5 guys and we take over a table that way we all know how to play.

That's exactly right. They didn't build Vegas by being "lucky".

Of course they did. Rivera just stumbled upon the springs.

I never win much and I refuse to lose more than $100.

On a side note, I have been labeled "the rabbit's foot" when going with another female to the boats.

Took a long time friend and coworker with me once. She won some bucks on the quarter slots.

Took an ex girlfriend with me once on her birthday. She won several hundred green backs on the quarter slots.

The ex fiancée hit the progressive on a dollar slot machine while she was with me and won somewhere in the neighborhood of 2 grand.

If you play blackjack "by the rules", you increase your odds of winning significantly, but it is by no means "taking over the table..".

Sure you do but it doesn't include the other players not "messing it up" by playing wrong.

I once spent a few hours at a blackjack table at the Barbary Coast in Las Vegas. I had a good time chatting with the other players and knocking back free drinks. By the time I tipped the dealer, I was down about $5. It was a pleasant way to spend a lazy, rainy afternoon.

Not really Vegas material.

I "play wrong" on purpose sometimes just to get the old farts to leave. They get real pissed when I hit on a 12 when the dealer has a bust card showing.

It's an old wives tale that the other players can hurt your play. Believe it if you wish.

I don't. With a 6 deck shoe, its pretty much a game of luck.

I'm usually willing to gamble 100-150 of my own money. My goal to leave is $300, but I've been to 290 and lost it all, trying for 10, enough times to know better.

If I'm winning(up 100) and feel the tide change...I'm out.

My method, which is relatively successful is to start with that 100, and play what I'm going to play....Blackjack, Poker, 3crd poker........If I win, I take $40 of "their" money to the $5 slot and swing for the fence. Sometimes I hit the button and get nothing....Sometimes hit it once and hit 3-400...once in a great while, more.

The Trick is Not to go very often, gamble wisely while there, limit losses and know when to leave.

I've been maybe 8 times this year, and have lost money once, maybe twice.

My "system" for blackjack isn't precise...but I prefer to play with 2-3 other good players....not a full table. More than 4-5 and the shoe has no streaks.

I don't count cards, but I do pay attention if no 10's have been up, after alot of small cards and double. I double on every 11, 10's vs dealer <8

Its best to have a Good player at 3rd.

Its not exact science, but I firmly believe one mongoloid can trash it for everyone else.

My mom won $400 in roulette (and lost 180 of it) and then won $50 on the slot machines last summer in Vegas. She's not a gambler either, lol. They went to the hotel casino planning to lose $100 having fun.

My dad will save change for a while until we get out to Dubuque and go out gambling with my great aunt. Poor guy always comes home empty handed. Now, Waterloo is gonna get a casino. I'll give us 6 months before we're living in a box.

"In the casino, the cardinal rule is to keep them playing and to keep them coming back. The longer they play, the more they lose, and in the end, we get it all."

Best I ever did was in Reno about 5 years ago, played Blackjack for 5 hours or so and came away with $3900...started with $300. Split aces, 8's, 7's, and 6's, doubled on 11 and 10. Had a couple af really good streaks of 21 on the deal too. Next day took my winnings to the poker table and lost my limit in 20 minutes ($300). The wife won't let me lose more than 300 in a day. So while she played the slots I went to a couple of shows, then find out she won $2500 on a $1 slot. The next day we took in the final night of the Reno Rodeo, and caught a red eye back home.
Been to Louisianna and Mississippi several times since, lost every time, although the shows in Tunica are almost always worth taking in.

I'm pissed that I never win. I'm not greedy. I don't want tons of cash. I'd be happy with $100. I guess I shall always wear the curse of "the lucky rabbit's foot" as I mentioned earlier. Anyone who goes with me, wins.
