Bears | McQuarters on the way Out? - from www.KFFL.com
Tue, 10 May 2005 05:53:23 -0700
Brad Biggs, of the Chicago Sun-Times, reports the Chicago Bears continue to look for ways to trade CB R.W. McQuarters. One league source said the asking price is so low, it's a foregone conclusion McQuarters will not be with the team when training camp opens in 10 weeks. One coach said Monday, May 9 the Bears are seeking only a seventh-round pick in exchange for McQuarters. The coach, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, said McQuarters will most likely be released if a trade can't be worked out
I watched quite a few Bears Games Last year with Thomas Jones on a couple of fantasy teams and I always thought he played pretty well. Definately an upgrade over Bartee, Mcleon, and Battle..
Thoughts?

Only if he is ready for a dogfight with Bartee for the nickleback position.

I haven't seen enough of him to make a judgment, but I always liked his name. I enjoy the mystery of wondering what the R and W stand for, and McQuarters is for some reason a really cool-sounding name to me.

I think you are making an unconcious association between the undeniably cool McDonalds with its badass mascot Ronald McDonald and McQuarters.

Killian, soon to be a household name. OU wins a lot of games but Tulsa produces the QB's.

It hearkens back to the halcyon days of C.W. McCall.
"Breaker one-nine for the rubber ducky."
He's due to make 3 million dollars this year. The Chiefs wouldn't trade for him at that price. I'm not sure any time would like to pay a nickel CB that much money. That's why the Bears want to get rid of him.

Frerotte is better than anything OU has ever produced. Then there was Jerry Rhome....

If I remember correctly from his Oklahoma State(?) days, it does not stand for anything. I think he was named R.W. Well at least it was not Craphonso.

He's not worth that much. One McNugget for McQuarters and a Quarter Pounder with Cheese. But only if it has cheese...
