As you may know, Chiefsplanet is currently developing t-shirts and hats to support this site.

In order to accurately gauge interest, and to properly stock inventory with sizes needed, we feel a poll is in order to see what sizes we need to order and the quantity of each.

Poll forthcoming.

Great idea...but what about red t-shirts?

Red t-shirts suck. It's hard to find a quality red tee that will hold up over multiple launderings. We're trying to offer quality shirts for a reasonable price and red doesn't fit in our plans.

Small piece of advice:

If you get hats made up make sure they are soft cap all around. Those hats with the plastic or cardboard or whatever it is in front to make the outside slogan, emblem stand up/out are horrible.

It's somthing a 70 year old man would be wearing after too many at the American Legion.

Yeah - I kinda like that too. Quality is essential in this effort. In speaking to the T-shirt guy, I asked that we do use quality products. I won't have a shirt falling off somebody's back in after 3 washings. That's ludicrous.

You want a slouch cap, which is kinda my preference, too.

I haven't seen the cap suggested in the poll, but I'll check it out. I'm also checking on baby-doll shirts for the ladies. It turns out we don't have to order a minimum amount of those, so it can be done but they're going to be about $5 more than a regular tee. I know my wife will want one. Ladies, please let me know if this is something you want.

It's one that has the fitted look, but elastic to conform to your head (ie: no velcro or buckle straps for adjustment).

I don't yet know if we're doing that actual model. I'd think that might be a problem for the ladies who like to put a pony through the hole. Heh.

Ooooooooooo ... we need an Official Cheifs Planet Babe to grace the design. She has to have red hair to match the red and gold motif and not have an oversion to posing in a wicked weasle bikini. Any chance you could do MLB-style fitted caps? I know they'd be more expensive, but FlexFit caps are "one size fits all", which means "one size fits under 7 1/2", and I know the other guys with large domes (I wear a 7 7/8 if I'm lucky, sometimes 8) would appreciate a hat that actually fits on their head.

I don't think there's any chance we'll do that this time. If/when we develop a store that can support an employee, we can look into it. But for people who are doing this effort in their free time, I think it would be a logistical nightmare to special order and special ship custom sized hats.

I agree on staying away from red. It's hard enough to find two pieces of Chiefs gear that are the same red. Not to mention fading.

One suggestion. Whichever brand of tee you decide to go with, ask the print guy for one of each size to take home and wash. That will give you a better idea of how accurate the sizes are. Some brands run small, and some brands also shrink more than others. I recommend Gildan 11 oz tees. They are great combination of quality, durability, and price. The smaples would also allow you to see the colors in person, since they often look different in the catalog.

For polos, you could have them make you an embroidery pattern (use it on hats too). Normally you can order small/odd amounts of embroidery stuff.

Would it be possible to have your name customized on the back of them? For like an extra $5?

Would people be interested in that?

Red isnt necessarily a bad idea. Obviously people arent digging Yellow yet.

Yeah, I'm thinking the sign on name for a bit of xtra dough. I'm in.

Yeah, I'm thinking the sign on name for a bit of xtra dough. I'm in.The problem with adding names is you take something that is cheap because it's made in bulk, and turn it into something that needs to be individually customized. That will add up fast from a t-shirt shop. Not to mention the sheer hassle of having to do all the custom orders.

Yep. As cool as it would be to have your username on the back (so you could see fellow people around town) the ordering and production would be greatly hassled and therefore cost will shoot up. That said, itd still be cool.

If it throws a monkey wrench into the works, I can just do the personalization at the local T shirt shop. I'm still in for a T.

With the shirts only being $15,you could always take it to a shop and have the name heat set on the back.We have a place here that charges $2 for bringing in an outside shirt and letters at 40 to 80 cents each.

What we need is Chiefs football jerseys, and where they put the probowl patch we have a CP patch. Then we can put our usernames on the back of the jersey.

Oh I don't disagree with that. What you need to realize is that The Planet would have to purchase a minimum order quantity of those things, which adds up to some serious swag. I just don't see it happening.

This sounds a bit strange, but its me so the expectation is already there, but I think Chiefsplanet Hockey Jersey's would be a better option. Hockey Jersey's are damn warm, great for wearing layers under, and the Chiefs probably would not be to upset because they don't sell anything like them.

(colors are off a bit, but just an example)

For the offseason I like tanks. It's hard to find a Chiefs tank so I'd like a yellow tank if I could get one. Swim trunks and a Chiefs Planet tank and a cap is what I'd like to wear till about September and I break out my game day gear.

It would depend on the design of the shirt. (tee shirt).

I had some cool word fonts i was going to copy and paste, but it won't allow me.
The tee shirts that some pics are showing in this post are flat and boring to me. I wouldn't wear them.

Count me in for the babydoll tee.
