How useful is NFL europe? What if Scanlon doesn't make the team, what does that say about NFLE? If you can do as well as Scanlon has over there, and you still don't make an NFL team, isn't NFLE basically a big useless joke?
Surely the whole thing isn't worthless.. so surely Scanlon makes the team.. right?
Hrm... :hmmm:

Many players get to showcase or further develope their skills by NFLE.

IMHO, If KC cuts Rich,I look for some other team to lock him up before the PS again.

But I see him as the backup MLB after having a year in Gun's scheme and showing his ability in NFLE.

In general, no the NFLE is not a wash, it helps to develope talent. Plus it give the other country something to watch and spend $$$ on.

I think the NFLE is a weedout tool. If you can't make it over there, you're not an NFL prospect. If you do well over there, it means that you're possibly an NFL prospect. That makes it a valuable tool.

NFLE is essentially the NFL's version of AAA ball.

It also helps get American football in front of the rest of the world to hopefully get our style of football to spread.

Just like baseball. Some guys get better at the AAA level and move on up to become solid, or sometimes even better than just solid. Some do great in AAA and flame out when they try to advance.

One thing is pretty much guaranteed, if a player wants to advance to the NFL, he'd better dominate at the NFLE level.

Scanlon, Smith, and McIntyre look like they have a chance.

Rich Scanlon is learning the business from the ground up, and intends to use the profits from his successful medical practice to buy an NFL team.

It was just brought to Bob Dole's attention that Rich Scanlon is currently supplementing his income with eBay auctions of items like this (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=5580306350&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMESE%3AIT&rd=1).

I'd rather have the bigger, stronger, faster Matt Jones. He don't need no stinkin' NFLE.

You're right. He needs a few years of Arena league, just so we can figure out what position he can play. Too small for TE. Too dumb for QB. No experience at WR. Whats next for Matt Jones? MLB?
