Where do we stand right now with the cap? How much is there to spend?

i don't think we have a freakin' clue where we stand right now.

with the recent signing and the trade for surtain it's really impossible to tell.

when all the draft figures come out i would imagine we'll have a rough estimate.

My understanding is that we are close to flat broke. That's going to change with cuts though, obviously.

The only guy's numbers that you can semi trust is John Clayton of ESPN. The cap data is suppose to be secret but he puts out a public list all the time and is never sued. ESPN is a big target it would seem that if they were putting out false information that the NFL or the teams would be suing him and ESPN. So at least for me that gives his numbers a crumb of creditibility.

Planeteers have in the past generally agreed that he is probably getting his numbers from the NFLPA. They havesomething to gain from these numbers being public.

According to Clayton (as of April 29th) the Chiefs only have $900,000 in cap room.

I think the numbers that are thrown around on the net are BS.
