Any other geeks going to be at the movies?

I could not resist, going to a Star Wars movie at midnight opening "day" is about as close as it gets to the arrowhead experience in GA.

My son is going, he and his friend already have tickets, but he plans to be in the theatre many hours in advance. No way I am waiting in line for hours to see this movie. Hope you all have fun.

Is this as good as a date with a real-live girl? OH!--silly me...how could you compare the two?...

Just got my tickets for Thursday evening.

I just got back from vacation - because of that, I can't take Thursday off. Otherwise, I probably would have done the midnight show. Oh well. After waiting three years, another few hours won't kill me.

Imagine how much it would suck if you got hit by a bus or something on Thursday.

Uh, getting hit by a bus would suck regardless of when it happened. :spock:

Yes, but you'd be kicking yourself (figuratively) for not seeing ROTS earlier as the life slowly left your body.

I have heard anywhere from 3 to 5 hours ahead of time. If they do not have tickets in advance I would imagine it would be the 5 hours.

I don't think it is quite that bad out here in San Diego. To many other things to do.

I'm getting in line at 10 PM, not AM. I already have my tickets.

What?? Your kidding?? Thats not just the best Star Wars film, Not just a great Sci-Fi film, Not just one of the best sequels of all time, but in my top 5 best films of all time. I believe that film is the glue that holds the Star Wars Universe together.

Wow,top 5!?!

My feeling on that movie is "Ehh".
Of course, that's how I feel about the whole series.
But I thought the first one was the best one, and the whole series has gone downhill from there.

Yea im serious. I think if you talk to most Star Wars geeks they are of the same opinion as well. Its generally considered a Sci-Fi Masterpiece.

OK an action masterpiece, but a SciFi masterpiece? Even as someone who has a high degree or repsect and admiration of the Star Wars genre. I find it hard to consider it a SciFi masterpiece.

None of the Star Wars films are science fiction. They are much closer to Fantasy.

While ESB has great action it's real meat is in the non-action parts.

No,I'm not kidding,I saw the first one on its original release at the age of 14 and didn't care for it,now at over 40,my idea of a good fantasy film can be found in some upper channels on DirecTv.

Everyone has their own tastes,as for me,Star Wars and LOTR etc is not one of them.

I figure my choices are standing in line for 2 hours, maybe reading a book or something, at the midnight show, or walking straight into the theater with no wait at 10:45 or 11 am on Thursday. So, uh, yeah, Thursday morning wins out over midnight. Not to mention the difference in price.
