It's June 1, which means NFL veterans are sweating out "cut day." Who will get their walking papers? Rumor Central has updates on Rich Gannon, Chad Morton and Bobby Taylor

on the front page http://www.espn.go.com

I think they said Chad Morton because they meant Chad Morton.

I don't think so...here is the article it links to

By next Thursday afternoon, when coaches and general managers have received their personnel notices, many likely will say, "What, did we sleep past the June 1 cut date?"

That supposed second wave of free agency barely will create a puddle this year. Chiefs wide receiver Johnnie Morton, 49ers tackle Scott Gragg, Rams tackle Kyle Turley, Titans safety Lance Schulters, Seahawks safety Bobby Taylor and Raiders quarterback Rich Gannon are the only certain names. But Gannon is going to retire, and Turley weighed only 240 pounds a couple of months ago and was talking about switching to defensive end. It's hardly a list that will generate much excitement.

no mention of chad in the article

Both Chad Morton (KR/WR of the Redskins) and Johnnie Morton of the Chiefs are rumored to be 6/1 cuts this year.

In any case, it looks like they're both going to be unemployed.

I didn't see anything in the article that mentions that in fact this is all I could find.

NEWS: May 28
SKINNY: Morton (knee) was examined by a specialist last weekend but still has not been cleared to return to the field, the Washington Post reports.

so an injury settlement would have to be reached first

Chad Morton could be let go as well, with other players handling return duties adequately after he underwent season-ending surgery last season. Morton, who would provide $540,000 in cap savings this season, has yet to be cleared to practice since his anterior cruciate ligament surgery, but his agent, Leigh Steinberg, said yesterday that the Redskins had given him no indication Morton would be released
