Whats the deal with Desi Relaford? Why did you guys get rid of him? He seems to be a solid utility player for the Rox

yeah, you guys have a great record. Must be helping out immensely.

It's the natural order of things. The Royals bring up young talent, develop it, and let it go. That way other teams can prosper. Like the Texas Rangers.

Offense hasn't been our problem...its been pitching especially out of the bullpen

Wake up man, Desi came up with the Phillies. Personally, I think he was an underrated and crucial part of the team in 2003 when we had a winning record, he was a FA acquistion that year. But he got hurt late in 2003 and was just never the same with us, and hovered around .200 most of the year last year even though Tony Pena tried to get him in the lineup everyday. We already had Tony Graffanino and an abundance of middle infield prospects, so we let him walk.

Only Relaford wasn't brought up by the Royals. He signed as a free agent to be a utility player, but ended up starting for us. He's no better than a utility player.

Relaford is a very good utilityman.

However, the Royals tried to use him as an everday starter, and he wasn't as successful in that role.

He's an ok player but nothing special. Nothing to keep a young guy out of the lineup for anyway.

I thought Desi was the MVP of the first half of 2003. For a lot of different reasons - like tk said - he never came around last year. We already had other utility options and he was making a mil per year, so we let him walk.

I'm impressed that gochiefs was able to get a picture of Juan Gonzalez every time he went to the doctor's office in the last four days. Hopefully Juan has a restraining order by now.

he had one good year and one poor year (last - but EVERYBODY had a bad year last year!) for the Royals. I have always liked Desi, as long as he does not play too much - he can be exposed offensively.
good luck.

and once again the perfect example tonight....Rox down 4-2 in the 4th and score 4 to go up 6-4....Bullpen comes in in the 6th and now the Cards lead 8-6 :banghead:
