PLEASANT PRAIRIE, Wis. — An 81-year-old woman who fell into her bathtub was trapped for six days before a concerned neighbor and a police officer rescued her.

The woman was alert when the pair got to her, said the neighbor, Larry Nelson.

“I walked into the bathroom and she said, ‘Hi Larry!’ I asked if she had heard me rap on the doors, and she said, ‘Yes, but what could I do?’”

A newspaper carrier who lives in the neighborhood noticed papers piled up at the woman’s home. The Kenosha News carrier, Karen Barker, left a note for a neighbor to check on the woman.

She had been drinking water from the bathtub faucet, police said.

I noticed recently that I'm starting to make the old man noise when I get out of my car.

One day soon, I plan to break a hip getting out of my ride.

That's good. When you stop to notice stuff like that, then you're old.

Not particularly. I'd rather it weren't jacked up that high. I bought it for function more than flare. That truck is going to put decent food on my table for a long time.

I hope you stand on one of those rubber mats. I'd hate for you to slip and break a hip, Gramps.

He needs to be very careful where he puts the cheese.

That is the early stages of, well. Getting older is better than the alternative.

Could someone explain how you could find a way to reach the faucet and drink from it, but cant get out of the tub?
I'm 6'3 275 and I think I would dehydrate first before I would be able to arrange my body in a way to drink from the faucett. I guess I would die knowing I had real clean feet.
