Wow. A third rounder? That's amazing...

They probably aren't counting on Taylor to make it through TC again.

Wow. They'd be better off cutting some guys to make cap room for what he's asking. A third-rounder is grounds for expelling the franchise from the league.

My brother (big Hawks fan) said that he had heard that this is not going to happen because the Jags don't want to have to rework his contract after the trade.

As to Taylor, he has quietly played in every game for 4 years but everyone still thinks of him as an injury risk.

Considering he missed two games last season, and 14 games in 2001...I highly doubt he played in every game for the last 4 seasons. But who's counting.

taylor has played in 3 straight seasons missing only 2 games last season but still broke the 1200yd mark...im shocked this man has never made a pro bowl...truely under rated along with his fellow offensive teammate jimmy smith...why dont these 2 get any love?

Ok, sorry that was based on an incorrectly remembered conversation. He did miss 2 games last year. And make it the last 3 seasons, not 4 and I come close at least.

I'm just giving you sh*t. Taylor has been able to stay pretty healthy the last several seasons. Healthier than our own Priest Holmes.

Small market team is my guess.

I am not worried, I stuck my foot in my mouth. I was rather surprised by this also, I wouldn't have had him on my fantasy team last year because of his "history". This year I may think a little differently.

Considering Jax's defense, this could make them a team to look out for.

In what way does Jimmy Smith not get any love?

hes doesnt get the recognition of a bruce moss holt owens harrison...when he puts up great numbers year after year

since 96 hes been a 1000 receiver except for one season in 03 were he posted 800 yards in 12 games

I gotta run, but I was curious, because I can remember a time not too long ago, when Jimmy Smith was all over the place. Since he hit it big with J'Ville, I have lived in Colorado and Michigan and heard and saw him all over the TV, especially in Pre games hsows, hell didn't he make 3 pro bowls in a row?

Of course, 2 cocaine busts, or failed tests due to cocaine use (one of then was a bust right?), and no SuperBowl rings will hurt one's career. Michael Irvin at least had the rings to go with his habit. Smith was a stud for a few years dude, no worries; he just needs to lay off the blow

I can't begin to tell you how pissed I would be if we let Shaun go for a 3rd rounder..

Alexander for a 3rd rounder means that the decision is purely money oriented. Seattle is getting cheap, and wants to get something out of SA while they can.

He is easily a top 5 back in the league with a lot of tread on his tires. Taylor is good when healthy, but he does have a history of being fragile.

Jax has the look of a hungry up and coming team.

If so, WTF do they do with Fred Taylor?

Yeah, Im thinking thats the season where he served a 4 game suspension at the beginning of the year for violating the league's substance abuse policy.

Kinda hard to get a lot of good press going about you when youve got the drug abuse strikes against you.

As for Seattle, they are foolish if they dont request higher than a third rounder for Alexander. They needed to sign him to a long term deal first and foremost in my view.

He's certainly done enough for that organization to earn himself a little job security with a long term deal, and not this one year at a time horseshit.

If Seattle doesn't lock up Alexander for a 3-5 year deal they're ****ing retarded. The only think keeping him from greatness is a crap line and BLAH at QB.

And I'd trade a 1st for Jimmy Smith (with two healthy eyes) in a heartbeat...

The Jags are denying this report saying it's a load of crap and they have no clue where it came from. With comments like "who makes up these things".

Just figured I'd put that out there if anyone does care.

2001 - 1318 yds 4.3 ypc 14 TD's
2002 - 1175 yds 4.8 ypc 16 TD's
2003 - 1435 yds 4.4 ypc 14 TD's
2004 - 1696 yds 4.8 ypc 16 TD's

a 3rd rounder, eh?

MORONS!
