Heard this as a rumor somewhere a few days ago, first time I've seen it official-like. Pretty cool, obviosly aired leading up to the feature film. I'm also glad to see they're going to air it in order unlike those idiot f*cksticks at Fox. Hell of an upgrade from Andromeda. Hopefully it'll find an audience.

SCI FI To Air Firefly Episodes (http://www.scifi.com/scifiwire2005/index.php?category=0&id=31260)

SCI FI Channel announced that it will air reruns of Fox's canceled SF series Firefly, including three episodes that never aired on Fox. SCI FI will air all 14 hours of the show, from creator Joss Whedon (Buffy the Vampire Slayer), starting July 22, in the 7 p.m. ET/PT Friday timeslot. It will be followed by new episodes of Stargate SG-1 at 8, Stargate Atlantis at 9 and Battlestar Galactica at 10.

The channel will air the episodes in their intended order, beginning with Whedon's pilot. (Fox, by contrast, began with the show's third produced hour, "The Train Job," and aired the two-hour pilot at the end of the show's abortive first season.) SCI FI acquired exclusive rights to the show from 20th Century Television, which produced the show for the Fox Broadcasting Co.

Firefly centers on the ragtag crew of the firefly-class transport ship Serenity 500 years in the future, led by renegade Capt. Mal Reynolds (Nathan Fillion), a veteran of the losing side in a galactic civil war.

Universal Pictures will release Serenity, a theatrical film based on Firefly, on Sept. 30. Universal and SCI FI are owned by NBC Universal, which also owns SCIFI.COM.

Great news. I missed it the first time around, but have heard good things about it from friends. Plus, the buzz surrounding "Serenity" has me interested.

I'm also looking forward to the new season of BG. Really liked the new version of that show.

I'm also looking forward to the new season of BG. Really liked the new version of that show.Oh hell yeah. I've been taping all the episodes on their second run through (although I missed one, thank the gods for the marathon the first week of july) and I like it even more now than I did when they premeired. Amazing show.

As for Firefly, it was the first (and only) series I've bought on DVD. Got it a couple of months ago and I've already watched the entire run twice. Some great commentary tracks, too.

So I just watched all 14 and serenity. Yup like 10 Yeats late lol. Damn show was good. Now I'm just pissed off again because it wasn't enough lol. I get the hate towards fox now.

SciFi is a gigantic commercial with an occasional show or movie used as a brief interruption to the ads. I can't stand that station. Just commercial break after commercial break with the content being buried under the weight of their greed.
