I was not aware of this, but I just learned that the last time the Browns had a 1,000 yard RB in a season... 1985. Good gawd. Two decades. I just heard about this on the NFL Network.

If you would have asked me if there were any teams without a 1,000 yard RB in the last 20 seasons, I would have likely said no. Amazing.

They have not used just one guy at RB. We did the same crap with Marty. He'd use three a game a none would ever break the barrier. Before Holmes the nigerian nightmare was like the last one we had.

How many years during that span were they without a team?

Mack and Byner both got 1000 yds one year under Marty. I don't know which year but must have been mid 80's.

I believe that both Mack and Byner cracked 1,000 yards in 1985.

Mack
1985 cle | 16 | 222 1104 5.0 7
Byner
1985 cle | 16 | 244 1002 4.1 8

Heh, they have two 1,000 yard runners that year and are 8-8.

I think that was the year Marty took over in mid-season from Rutigliano and led them to a division title with the .500 record.

What about Arizona? Did Michael Pittman crack 1000 one year?
