It is definitely not Tourette's Syndrome, and it is questionable whether it's even funny.

Yep. See that before. That's the biggest batch of made up crap I've ever seen. Tourettes is nothing close to what this guy has. I'd diagnose him as stupid and overweight, but that's about it........

Of course it isn't really tourette's. But a fat man with a neck brace drinking beer, answering the phone with an emphatic "Piss!" is comedic gold.
Other funny moments: a sentence as absurd as "Who wrinkled my Randy Travis poster, pissed on the seat, and hid my keys?" and him grounding his son because the son didn't think the garbage disposal sounded like Chewbacca taking a s***.

My favorite part was the "**** SALT!", and "THESE FISHSTICKS ARE AS HARD AS TITS!"

Yes! I forgot about that video. "*** salt!" is hysterical. Completely contrived, but hysterical nonetheless.

This is funny as hell... I'm not so sure it's completely fake. I think the guy is just crazy. He probably has tourettes, and has some kind of other problems as well. Then his buddies tell him to act even crazier when the camera is on.

Tourettes is an interesting thing. I know two different people who have it. Both of them manifest it different ways. The girl I know who has it is completely embarrassed by it, but every once in awhile (especially if she gets excited) she "squeaks." It's actually really cute. She doesn't think so. The guy I know who has it used to make all sorts of noises and say random things out loud. He learned to control it by tounging the roof of his mouth and making a barely perceptable glottal noise. Now he runs his own business, and nobody really notices.

It's fairly common knowledge that Bob Dole doesn't have a sense of humor.

I find nothing humorous in making fun of a real physical syndrome....real or not this is tasteless.

My 8 year old son has Tourette's Syndrome. I don't get all offended at stuff like this because I used to make jokes too. I do wish people had a better understanding of what Tourette's actually was though. I didn't watch this, but my vote automatically has to go to...

You know Tourrets isn't a debilitating disease or anything. It's a neurological thing, that can be embarrasing, but it's nothing like Aids or Cancer. And you know, even if it were, I don't think it would be wrong to joke about it, or to find the humor in it. I might be a sick bastard, but I think that everything is (or at least CAN be) funny. Is it funny when a guy trips on the sidewalk and screams, "OH MY SHIT!" while clearly mixing up the two phrases "shit" and "oh my God." Yes it is! What if he gets hurt really bad? Still funny... Sorry he got hurt though, that sucks. OK, what if he falls off a cliff and dies? In that case, the shock of seeing someone die might overwhelm you, and you probably won't find it funny. But, six months from now, you'll be lying in bed thinking about that day at the Grand Canyon, and you'll remember how he screamed, "OH MY SHIT!" And how those were his last words. And you'll start to chuckle... Because, yeah... It's still funny...

It was pretty tough when we discovered what it was a couple years ago. It's a lot easier now because we've learned how to deal with it without meds. Just getting plenty of rest and allowing him to remain calm is the key! He's also a little sports stud so I'm hoping that helps him as he gets older. Brag...He jacked two over-the-fence home runs in baseball this year. They play on a T-Ball field, but no one else in his league had one this year or last!

Right on. How does his manifest? Like I said before, a friend of mine learned to control it pretty well by making an almost unnoticable glottal sound. I didn't even know he did it until one day we were talking and I noticed it, and I asked him about it.

So...what you're saying is it's OK to make fun of someone as long as they aren't dying?

While IA_Chiefs_Fan is OK with someone making fun of of a physical malady, I'm not. Having a son with Autism and watching how cruel children AND adults can be in making fun of my son is something I wouldn't wish on anyone.

Actually, what I'm saying is it's ok to make fun of anybody and everybody (even if they ARE dying) in the right context. It's never ok to intend to hurt someone or to try and make someone feel bad about something. Especially when that 'something' isn't thier fault like a disease or disorder. Perhaps there is a stigma behind the phrase "make fun of" that implies that it's mean spirited. I guess I'll use the phrase "find the humor." I typically use the term "pick on" when I refer to the mean spirited crap. That's totally inappropriate behavior for anyone, to anyone. Whether they are disabled or not. I was a perfectly healthy kid, and I got picked on all the time growing up. That's a terrible way to treat a person. But learning to laugh at the problems of this world is just another way to remind us that in the end, none of it is really all that big of a deal...

Making light of your fellow man and the pratfalls that happen to us all is a part of life....I can agree with that part. But to make a joke out of someone's malady is not funny in any light.

The problem is that these days it's considered funny to belittle your fellow man to make yourself feel better about yourself. I've stood and watched as people made fun of Special Olympians competing to the best of their abilities, going so far as to mimic their movements....

I will admit that I am probably a little too touchy about the subject to be objective, but I just can't find any bit of humor in the piece that is the subject of the thread.

I can respect that. I guess I just don't agree that there are some things "you just don't joke about." I say, joke about anything, everything, and everybody. Then, nobody can ever be offended... Because we're all in this together. You have downs syndrome, I've got a bad back, he's got polio, that guys canadian, other people watch too much Star Wars, Jack is delusional, and Jill has herpes... We're all f*cked, so instead of crying about it, we laugh at each other (and ourselves). But... There are lines that shouldn't be crossed. If you are fully aware that something you are going to say is going to be hurtfull, then just don't say it. No need to hurt anybody or tear anybody down.
