How long will you have the cast on your arm/hand? Did the doctor put a hook where the hand should be?

Right now I've still got a splint on. On Monday, assuming the swelling's gone down enough, the doc will put a real cast on which I will have to wear for a month.

He didn't give me a hook, but that would've been cool.
I'd insist on the hook.
