I knew he had run some back, but i didn't realize this....

From the Buccaneers website...

Well, did you know that Kansas City return man Dante Hall needs only one more kickoff return for a touchdown to tie the NFL’s all-time record (six) and that the distinguished list of players he’s chasing includes Mel Gray, Ollie Matson, Gale Sayers and Travis Williams?

Six? Is that correct?

I would have guessed the record was higher than that, assuming they are referring to career high.

The NFL record for Kickoff return TDs in a career is 6. Held by four players: Ollie Matson, Gale Sayers, Travis Williams, and Mel Gray.

Dante Hall currently has 5 kickoff return TDs.


The NFL record for Punt Return TDs in a career is 10. Held by Eric Metcalf.

Dante Hall currently has 4 punt return TDs.

Totally agree! I love Dante, but Metcalf was da bomb! I swear I could never figure out how a dude that short could have a 5-yard stride!!

The funnier kick return stat is that nobody in the history of the Bucs franchise has ever returned a kick for a TD.

IIRC, he's only two kick returns away for TOTAL career....kickoffs and punts.

I didn't know this...............but I do remember Gale Sayers. The others I don't but was not raised around football. Just the last 12 years been learning it.....Dante can break the record..........The O-line will see to that~:D
