It launched, and it did not blow up. There was some really neat vid of the large tank separation.
It's amazing how far and fast that thing goes, esp how quickly it gets to 17K+ MPH
I'm prolly a total nerd for getting into this stuff.

That video of the main tank was simply amazing. The separation took my breath away.

I esp like how you could see the Shuttle burn its rockets (thus ensuring a clean sep) from the tank's perspective. Neatest space vid I've seen in some time.

I was there to see the shuttle launch 7 or so years ago when the first female captain was aboard. Awesome thing to witness in person.

I believe he meant the television video feed, not a video on the web.

The whole thing only lasted a few minutes and it was gone, very cool.

HDNet [9422 on Dish] covered it live [in HD of course]. They will be replaying a 1/2 hour of highlight footage at 7pm CST.

Cool. I won't be home, but I'll be sure to set the DVR to record it.

I'm sure it will be all over the news and the Net tonight. I had to remind myself that I wasn't watching a Hollywood feature, but the real thing. One of the most amazing space shots I've ever seen.
