besides that it's awesome graphics and great gameplay

I don't get the years on football video games. Why isn't this one Madden 2005? From the sound of your post it would seem that they at least attempted to make teams have the starting roster for the 2005 season. Where the f*ck do they get 2006?

It's simply a marketing strategy. There's only five months of 2005 left when the game is released so EA Sports feels they can sucker a few non-hardcore football fans into buying the game well into 2006 when the season is already finished.

that, and the fact that they rush the game out to stores BEFORE preseason--so football fans get their football fix--I'd be ok with a release after the 53 man rosters are announced, so it'd be more accurate :shrug:

Weren't the first football games released later in the year, like October timeframe? I remember getting games for Christmas and it didn't seem like they had been out forever. Maybe that is why they named them the next year, because they didn't used to come out until October.

Dante Hall was injured during kickoff return. Luckily Madden announced that he was ok and had just taken the field,, as I was in a dime prevent against the Vikings on 3rd and long.

So far I hate the field of vision for the QB. You lock on your primary reciever, and as soon as he breaks Trent starts looking at the other receivers so I throw a crappy pass to him. I turned that off. I do like the pass placement thing now, (the last Madden I had was 04 so it may not be new), where is Tony G is man up I can tap the throw and up arrow so it is a high pass that only Tony can jump and get.

I love Craphonso Thorpe. He can break a tackle like a champ because I accidentally used him in the training camp RB drills, and he was so fast I got an All-Madden gold medal with him.

I played the Chargers, and Priest had 5 yards rushing. I hope their D line is not that strong in real life.

Sims is a fat puss in Madden, just like his last two years. He can either A. Get blocked out by the o-lineman, or B. get locked up, swim/spin out of it and get pushed down to the ground in the process.

Wilkerson is horrible as well on here.
